  1. Such a pity for the lad, he always impressed me, every time I saw him play.
  2. I see ex Ram Tom Garrett has been released by mutual consent from HKR today. I wonder what has gone off there?
  3. Hopefully the Rfl will see the error of there ways, and scrap it and then the league will be fair.
  4. Go on then Phil, name which players have "for a fact" -your words- "lost interest and put the queue on the rack". Can you also tell me, which of those players you are about to name, are 100% fit, are not carrying knocks, or playing with injuries? What you seem to be leaving out of yet another of your inane negative postings is: - The Widnes game was preceded by a very tough away game at York, on a Monday night, after a full day at work, on the hottest day on record! Which we won. Not an excuse, but a fact! Then, we backed that up with 3 games in 8 days, winning 2 of them. The 3 on the bounce. We lost against Barrow and Halifax, hardly what you could call easy beats, as there respective league positions will attest. Halifax away 3rd game in 8 days. Barrow, we had both hookers out,and Gledhill pulled out just prior to kick off. Brown, who was due to be rested, probably due to carrying a knock, played instead. London beat Halifax a month ago 30-10. Which shows they are a very different side from the one we thumped earlier in the season, and again not a bad side. Not forgetting we also went in to the game with a cobbled together squad, and probably the only 17 we had, which included 2 lads that had been out on loan in L1 for most of the season. How do these facts, point you to your conclusion that we lack interest and have put the queue on the rack, and are not just suffering with injuries, with a small squad?
  5. I hadn't realised you had gone to the game Phil. Which of the players do you think are low on interest and have put the cue on the rack?
  6. The 6th time he has been charged this season. At what point does he fall in to 'Liability' category?
  7. I went up to watch Batley earlier in the season and it was probably the best away day of the season imo, even despite a pretty poor performance by the dogs. The hospitality was first class and a great set of fans in a proper old fashioned rugby ground.
  8. Brown Meadows Really struggling after that so Walshaw for his defence
  9. Whiteley is great at running the ball out of defence, but suspect under the high ball. How many of the players in today's 17 were fit? Nobody knows. But, we look beaten up and in need of a rest. Today was disappointing, but all teams have off days. Look at the Wigan result today at Wakefield, Saints against Toulouse..... It's not just us. Barrow, Halifax, York and us are very evenly matched, we weren't at our best and we lost to a very decent side. Get over it Phil! On another day, Hooley and Campbell wouldn't have made a hash of the kick, Gilmore's pass to Campbell would have gone to hand rather than in to touch, and Hicks wouldn't have ruled the try out for obstruction, especially since Barrow's fans and players had accepted it was a fair try and didn't even appeal for it. But they all happened. Credit to Barrow, they kept the ball alive really well and didn't make many mistakes. On hot days like today, a perfect game plan, extremely well executed, so fair play to them.
  10. Would they release a contracted player that is wanted by another club, without a transfer fee? Especially a rival club? Not likely I reckon.
  11. I think he signed a 2 year contract at the Bulls.
  12. You might be the only person who has not heard Rog. It has been doing the rounds for several weeks.
  13. No other games on, and yet it was decided to give one of the most naive referee's that game. Why? Even some of the most experienced officials find Sheffield hard to control, so what was the logic there? It can't have done his confidence much good, Farrell and Thackeray made more decisions than he did.
  14. Hodson came off with with a head knock, Kay limped past us with an ice pack on his knee at halftime, Blake limped off midway through the second half. None of them returned during the game. All could be precautionary, but with such a short turn around it wouldn't be a shock to see some or all of them ruled out for Sunday.
  15. Quite agree about the ref. Difficult to create much when a team is allowed to play offside, not stand square, slow the game down at will, and the only punishment handed out was six again. No team warning, or sin binning for persistent offences. The last thing you need when facing a grub filled, spoiling Aston type of team, is a ref like him. Who hasn't a clue of the rules, and seems like he is awe of the players he is supposed to be reffing, more interested in collecting their autograph and tie ups after the game than controlling the match. I understand he is young, and needs to learn, but surely he would be better learning at a level suitable for his skill level? In his case, it would be looking after the under 7s, once he's mastered that, then move him up.
  16. I think 3 games in 8 days, and 3 serious looking injuries sustained tonight will be our undoing. If you don't beat us on Sunday, there is something very wrong at Halifax. Then again, Halifax has always been too close to Lancashire for my liking, to not have something very wrong about it!
  17. No, complete waste of time IMO. But I did note, it was held on the opening day of the football season, SL had a full round of games (unlike the CH clubs for the magic round), the commonwealth games, and the women's Euro's final in the country on the same weekend. The phrase "set up to fail" springs to mind! So why bloody bother with it, especially this particular weekend? Even after we won by a cricket score. It is still a dreadful concept, executed appallingly.
  18. One for the historian's and statisticians. Was today the biggest ever Heavy Woolen derby win?
  19. https://fb.watch/ezW3FbI9Ks/ Thought I'd share this as it's derby day tomorrow
  20. I'd highly recommend the pies. They are sourced from a local farm shop. Not just good for a sports stadium, as good as you'll find anywhere, at reasonable prices to boot.
  21. You could say the same about us and Dewsbury...
