  1. I've had enough of this. Don't want to alienate those sensible Aussies who post on here. Plenty of positions, opinions etc but not only has not one poster changed their view, the powers that be are not listening. The game's leaders in Aus seem to be US mini-me but without the smoothness and subtlety of the previous US President. Que sera sera and I'm off to watch Roosters v Eels on Sky.
  2. That mean they'll do as their media tell them. I bet they still watch the Olympics even though they have zero chance of ever topping the medal tables.
  3. I don't understand why anyone can't appreciate the hierarchy of sporting competition in these days of global instant communications, global brands, global media etc. Top of the pyramid is truly global competition :Olympics, Soccer World CuP, Tennis grand slams, Formula 1- They attract the biggest audiences, media coverage, tv rights and advertising/sponsorship. the comes pseudo -global stuff like the World Series, Rugby Union World Cup, something Krikit... The comes regional international stuff, Euro this that and the other, for example. At the bottom ferriting around amongst the loose change relatively speaking, is domestic sport. And thats what NRL is at present. Shirley Vlandis realises this. If not, then he's even more stipid than he appears.
  4. By the way, his real name is Vlandis. Where all this affectation of V'landys comes from, only he knows.
  5. Even if Vlandis changes his mind for one that works and Aus does come and does instruct NZ to come too, the problem remains. Its a crude and naked power grab for world rugby league, with the witless Gould a mere entertaining diversion.
  6. I wonder what the Superleague owners collective coalition think?
  7. Well just fancy that. Horsemeat Vlandis hands another publicity opportunity to union. Tuivasa-Sheck is hopeful of forcing his way on to the planned end-of-year European Tour with the All Blacks https://www.totalrl.com/forums/index.php?/topic/362971-roger-tuivasa-sheck-quits-the-nrl-to-play-union-for-nz-union
  8. Phil Gould has blocked me on Twitter. He can dish it out but he cant take it. Can't handle the truth, I guess. All I was going to do this time was to ask him to read Ozimandias by Shelley. The sonnet refers to the cold command of tyrannical rulers (Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair) and how time's ruinous force obliterates all. " Of course, his works are nowhere to be seen .."the lone and level sands stretch far away"
  9. In my opinion the"number of cases" is a red herring. It all depends on identification, detection and testing and reporting. We don't know if Vlandis and old man Gould are (capable of?) comparing like with like. However, numbers jabbed is much more of an absolute and here Aus has comprehensively failed compared with virtually every other country. I assume Vlandis and Gould are working hard to ensure ALL players, officials etc are double jabbed. Sadly, there is no cure or innoculation for what those two have.
  10. Given the various responses and explanations on here and in the Aus press and social media, it is now more clear than ever that this has nothing to do with Covid.. other than as a smokescreen. Vlandis is shamefully and disgustingly hiding behind the deaths and illnesses of Covid victims to promote his personal agenda.
  11. It must be made clear to all eligible Aus and NZ players that the reason they will not be taking part as national, invitational, UK based or dual nationality teams is that Vlandis has renaged, defaulted, welched, bottled, chickened out and if they want to take part, they have to depose him. Not one backward step from the organisers.
  12. If it is postponed, Vlandis will have won, and the WC will be a damp squib, what with all the competing sports events. Vlandis will then claim ownership. If it goes ahead, Vlandis will claim its a mickey mouse cup. Either way, he'll win and assume control of the game worldwide.
  13. Not all Australian sports are bottlers. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/tokyo-olympics
  14. Don't think we should try to replace Aus and NZ with any team representative in any way of Aus and NZ. The players ned to feel the impact of Vlandis stealing their moment, their opportunity. Read his Wkilpedia entry and you'll see the naked ambition of Vlandis. Its a power grab, no more no less. Capitalising like he has on the misery of those who have suffered -or worse, died- from Covid is a cheap and dirty trick. As youll read, in the past, he couldn't have cared less about the well being of horses. Now he couldnt care less about the well being of players.
  15. Read this and then try to deny his world cup welching is a naked and brazen attempt at a power grab for the whole game. Peter Vlandis: The dark side of the horse racing industry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_V'landys?wprov=sfla1
  16. This action is clearly proof that New Zealand is a client state. "A client state is a state that is economically, politically, or militarily subordinate to another more powerful state (termed controlling state in this article) in international relations. "
  17. Yes. It's nothing more than a crude power-grab by a couple of old men in their declining years.
  18. Apologies. I was referring to the character, not the person.
  19. I quit Twitter a few months ago for a number of reasons. I might just rejoin tomorrow and explain to Gould how Aus and NZ bottling, defaulting, is unfortunate as it's high profile international sporting competition that grabs the headlines, the sponsors and the money. They're going to lose out on all that by welching.
  20. NRL isn't just Australia, I know. How dependent is NRL on imports and players of non-Aus heritage? Gus is 50 years out of date and appears to be defending the Australian and NZ bottlers.
  21. "of course he wants what’s best for them" Like tonight's performance?
  22. The sad thing is that this default by Australia and its dependency NZ has denied a number of players the chance evet to represent their country in the World Cup. They may be too old next time, not in form, and more likely, Aus and its slave state my not get another invite. Don't take it out on these players, take it out on Strop Vlandis and Co.
