  1. Yeah. Compare the average house price with the average salary.
  2. Spoilers are now being extended to include 'matches played yesterday'.
  3. Yes, we discussed cycling before. Meanwhile, on TNT tonight, last night and the night before, they will update on the scores going on in the same competition as the one being broadcast, all whilst those are available to watch on adjacent channels.
  4. You have ruined this game for me now. I was going to watch it back in full just for the cheer when they announce the crowd.
  5. How many days silence should there be on Sky's flagship rugby league programmes about the world's flagship rugby league competition to enable you and a handful of others to watch the games without knowing the score?
  6. Second class small parcel - which I'll assume a membership pack is as a reference point - sent via Royal Mail is £4.69 if you want it signed for at the other end.
  7. No idea. But you will hear discussions of whatever football Sky has in the commentary if it becomes relevant.
  8. I know you don’t watch it, but, trust me, nobody involved with Match of the Day is pretending that the people watching don’t know the scores.
  9. But, again, we have *every sport on every channel in every country* to back this up: recorded sport is not even close to live sport. You can do what you say and I’d still be willing to bet the viewing figures for a live game at 11am midweek will be higher than a full run through of that later. Even the citadel of tape delays being accepable - the US networks - has fallen.
  10. The wanting scores blocked for hours into days is ridiculous. Absolutely and completely ridiculous. EDIT Specifically for TV coverage. What you do in the confines of your app is up to you.
  11. I was mulling this last night whilst at Division 10 football and being involved in conversations about both the game in front of us - an entertaining 3-2 away win - and the scores from other local games being texted in *and* the games that were on the TV in the clubhouse. It just seemed natural that if you were engaged with one then you'd be interested in them all - and talk about them as they were happening. Not a perfect comparison - aware of the spoiler argument etc - but it did occur to me that sharing the scores and discussing them is a continuation on the TV of how people consume their sport when at the game itself.
  12. The staff involved members of the RLPA?
  13. Not much detail so hard to judge if this is a good thing or not. I suspect the clubs will be pleased that Monday night is not being considered this time around.
  14. I very rarely watch matches that aren’t live. And, as all viewing figures in all sports alll around the world show, that is the default position of the overwhelming majority.
  15. The glass was marked with both a pint and a 568ml marker. Either way, the ability to sell pints rather shows up the idea that the UK was forced to go metric. As do mile signs and distances in yards, of course. The fact that we're discussing this does rather show up how little attendance info is out there compared to previous years.
  16. That’s not true either. You could sell in any quantity you liked but you had to list the amount in metric as well as imperial. Hence a pint didn’t become 500ml.
  17. This has made me look up AFL Cairns and, because I believe in spreading the joy, would urge anyone who loves a bit of small-time sport gone mental to have a look at the "2004 AFL Cairns Grand Final Brawl" which resulted in 22 players being banned for 400 matches.
  18. Saved you a click: " I’ve been told that no formal discussions have really taken place as of yet."
  19. Rugby league in the era before union dropped shamateurism showed not just the potential but the reality.
  20. We could call it "Deliberate score update" and debate about whether it's just a passively accepted part of the coverage or it was purposefully set up that way?
  21. That's one way of framing it. We need a live look at the others.
