  1. That's Yorkshire for you - too tight to cough up for a second rail!
  2. Wonder when they'll release the figures or the Championship and L1. Or rather I don't, if you follow me.
  3. As far as the result's concerned, God knows and he ain't saying. Just for fun I'll say Leeds by 4, but so long as it's a good game I'm not that bothered.
  4. Agreed, now we'll have to see what the new season will bring with a new coach and some new players - let's see if we can avoid doing a Wrexham FC and not blow it in the play-offs. What slightly bothers me is the mooted reorganisation for season 2024 and what's going to happen to us lesser pond life in the RL world. Hey -ho, as Morcheeba once sang - 'Left my soul there/Down by the sea.'
  5. Not sure whether poor attendances, this year anyway, are due to apathy or economics. In the present situation I'd imagine that Wigan (and probably Saints supporters as well) are looking ahead to a possible Grand Final and are having to cut back on earlier rounds.
  6. The Cru should beat Rochdale (note should!) in a close game and I'll take Swinton to beat Donny. Although Donny dominated the first half last week against a weakened Crusaders side, the second half was different with the Cru 'winning' 12-6 and it wasn't a case of Donny putting the cue away thinking that the job was done but us working out their game plan.
  7. Just demonstrates that the action of club owners and boards are more inscrutable than quantum mechanics. Twas ever thus.
  8. That clears that up, thank you. Not sure about a Dons - Lions final, the Cru have beaten Swinton two times out of three this season with one being at Heywood Road.
  9. Funnily enough, he does have one, rarely for PNG he was apparently born in hospital.
  10. Not sure if that's how it works, may be wrong but aren't ties played on the ground of the side that finished highest in the league? Also, the Swinton supporters I talked to last week didn't rate their chances of promotion and thought that you'd go up.
  11. Mick Gledhill to Elephant Island, Antarctic Ocean (no electricity or WiFi). Well, a man can dream!
  12. And as I said during the game, losing might have not been such a bad thing, Rochdale at home looks a lot better than Swinton away. Interestingly, if we beat Rochdale and Donny loses at Swinton we'll play each other again at the CSM (as apparently Zipworld is now called) in two weeks' time. Provided we play next week as we did in the second half today this will probably happen!
  13. If players set out to fight rather than play, the best ref in the world won't be able to stop them.
