  1. Well done to Wakefield. I've been critical of their facilities for years but thankfully, they have finally got a management team in place, which has produced results. I hope they have got their finances in place to be able to afford it, I hope they can produce additional non match revenue to assist the club and I hope they generally progress as a club and become a solid top 6/8 side. Over to Castleford.
  2. Article on Rob Burrow and living with MND up on the BBC site. A number of other World Cup articlesas well.
  3. Just pop on to the BBC Sport web site. Otherwise, someone younger than me will help out with links.
  4. Two delightful and well written articles on the BBC rl site.
  5. Yes, please, please support the BBC rl web site, where they seem to be making a big effort to produce varied and interesting articles. Due to the BBC's support, advertising revenue is at a record level.
  6. Certainly created an enormous reaction in the comments section of the rl pages on the BBC site. Far more contributions, both positive and negative, than usual.
  7. Ignorance is bliss. Quite simply, there are Rights of Light issues with the houses behind, which cannot be over come. Its a planning issue that has been looked at numerous times over 40 yrs. As usual, people with no knowledge or information, come up with their simplistic solutions.
  8. Thanks for that. Modern facilities are absolutely critical for all clubs, whether in SL, League 1 or the community game. Not only to attract additional supporters/revenue but to provide appropriate facilities for players, sponsors etc.
  9. Have the Wakefield works, kick started any activity at Castleford, beyond the usual talks and promises?
  10. Genuine rugby league fans, should just be pleased that the redevelopment is actually happening. You can all complain that they should have done this, that and the other, once the redevelopment is completed.
  11. Nice to see both Doncaster and Keighley having some success. Should be a close game next week.
  12. Because no professional would rely on a 3/4 year old quotation! How difficult to understand is that?
  13. No anger, just dont like people making false excuses. No one goes into a 2022/23 project, based on 2019 cost estimates. The financial/project difficulties you are now faced with, has absolutely zero to do with either Brexit or covid. A little honesty from who ever is responsible would be appreciated, rather than trying to blame something else.
  14. What on earth are you talking about? What has an estimation in 2019 got to do with a project which was signed off 3 months ago in order to secure funding? There have been thousands of projects planned, commenced and completed since 2019. For the sake of the record, I'm a retired Chartered Surveyor who was involved in hundreds of commercial (retail) developments over 40 yrs. Essentially what has happened is the equivalent of a nice artists impression in order to assist with securing planning, only for the reality to look nothing like the artists impression. Someone has said, we can get hold of £X, we want to do Y works, make the figures work in order that we get the money. Once we have got the money for Y works we'll say that costs have increased so we either need more money to do the same works or we will do Y minus works. Please dont try and debate with me about commercial developments/ funding.
  15. Utter garbage. Covid restrictions ended a year ago, whilst Brexit was nearly 3 yrs ago, quite how that affects a 3 month old quote/estimate is beyond me. Even the supply chain issues from China started well over a year ago. So someone was either incompetant or negligent, or perhaps most likely, just wanted to make the figures 'work' .
  16. Pleased for London and David Hughes. The only future for Bradford, is away from Odsal.
  17. Utter delusion. The reason most older builders are pulled down, rather than being redeveloped - unless they are listed - is because its massively cheaper. Odsal will NEVER be redeveloped into a rugby / sports stadium. The sooner people realise / accept this and move on the better.
  18. Complain when Wakefield dont make any improvements, complain that the proposed improvements aren't good enough and no doubt complain when the works are completed.
  19. It's monday morning, so people are desperately trying to find something to complain about.
  20. Congratulations to Wakefield and their management team. Hope its a great success and you maximise the potential, both on and off the pitch.
  21. Hope you have a highly successful and enjoyable evening. My guess is, that you might sell some beer tonight.
