Next time we have an ashes series , matches should be played north to south . Something like Old Trafford , Headingley , Edgbaston/Trent Bridge , Oval , Lords or something similar . We all know in the north west come July the weather is pants , schools finish on comes the rain , so with a bit of luck no more washouts .

You forget last season less than a bus load of fans came with Batley , Halifax ,Sheffield ,York ,London ,and Newcastle . Outside of the Cumbrian Clubs only Fev and Leigh brought any negligable support and a fair few from Bradford attended .As far as the leagus above is concerned , away support certainly for us was poor .Don`t know if any Haven fans can give us an idea what the away support at their ground has been like .

Finally having a bit of luck . Crawley could have been out 5 or 6 times flashing and nearly playing on before he`d scored 30 runs and Moeen Ali had a few near misses in his knock .Needed a freak bounce to get Root out , but the wicket might just be starting to wear. Maybe a lead of around 200 might be enough to see us home , weather depending .

The Sixth Commandment on BBC again highlights how a good cast can enhance a story . Incredibly harrowing and creepy , but i cannot believe it is based on true story , what some people are capable of is shocking .

Been some cracking foorball documentaries on BBC Scotland on Friday nights . The other week it was about Rose Reilly who won player of the year and the Womens World Cup with Italy in 1984 , left Scotland to play in the Italian League all of which i had no idea Womens football was much of a thing that long ago .Last nights was about Steve Archibald , another cracker .

We are a part time club who are building for the future . You can`t blame players for booking hols on what should have been a blank week end .The RFL couldn`t give a flying you know what about our League or the Clubs in it with regards fixtures or revenue , so we will just have to soldier on with what we have .

These latest Channel 5 dramas are dreadful , the one that had Ross Kemp in last week was laughable and now we have one with Danny Dyer.......enough said .

Seems we are sticking with the same squad for the 4th test . If this is so with Bairstow and Root dropping catches at will , i think this will be our downfall . Need Anderson in for Robinson , put someone else at first slip , and hope Bairstow regains his form .But unfortunately if we don`t take our catches i fancy the Aussies .

Hardly ever drink at home , and only have the occasional night out .Easiest decision ever to cut down drinking when i went to the pub and the basic drink had gone up from £4 a pint to £4.80 in one go .They even put John Smiths up to £4.40 and i wouldn`t pay 10 pence for that .

Thought we missed the impact Kirkup and Reid give us coming off the bench last week and if we go with the same 17 as last week could struggle to hold their forwards .We can play a bit of rugby , so if it`s a big pitch , lets get it out wide and stretch them . .

Operated on different sides of the field , one right centre the other left centre , i think usually the plan was to get it to Kenny whenever they could and let him make his own gaps by simply blasting through...............no one still compares to Ian Wright though , but my late Father was all for Eppie Gibson .

Thought initially you`re Team looked awful , but the longer the match went on the more you came into it .At 20-12 the game could have gone either way , You had 2 lads carried off with what looked really bad injuries , this and having now a small bench affected your interchanges .Town ran in a few tries towards the end due to our bench (primarily Marwood) and possibly you ran out of steam a bit .The score flattered Town and i wouldn`t be that disheartened with how the game ended . Looked to have a decent half back pairing and a good kicking game .

Been a poor year for nesting birds in Wesr Cumbria , don`t know why . Also noticed now we are in July the lack of young Swallows/House Martins , have only come across 5 young Swallows up to now . It`s as if the first nests have failed and the 2nd ones are still on their way , anyone else experienced the same ?

Finally had a session with the conditions in our favour .Need to press home our advantage now and get the match done , no hurry to get the runs just play the bad balls and leave the rest .

Teams like Rochdale Hornets can`t be allowed to disappear , we have lost too many old traditional Teams as it is .Everyone complains , but think of those long Sundays with no matches and the off season when you can`t wait for the first match to come along .I have been a Town fan since1963 , we have had more downs than ups in those times , but a true fan battles on regardless .I have fond memories of the Hornets non more so than when i was having a short break with relations in Littleborough , they asked what i wanted to do on Sunday , i said i don`t know about you but me and the wife are off to watch Rochdale v Widnes iin the cup ....Henderson Gill scored a couple i think in the days when Widnes were the Cup kings . Keep the faith .

3rd Test at Headingley might provide a bit of swing for Anderson so i think England might pick him again .England now at 8-5 to win the game , might be the time to bet them .Still hope as in the last Test though that we bat first if we win the toss , regardless of the wicket .Need to post a good total and put the pressure on them for a change .
