Boxing referee Mills Lane, although the first thing that came to mind when I saw this was that he was the referee in Celebrity Deathmatch. -

Last night I saw a trailer for an Inside No. 9 Christmas special. -

The drama queen who had a go for someone for leaving the room in tears the previous night before doing the same thing himself. I think Amanda might end up winning. -

There was the one in tears after he found out that the girl he had fallen for already had a boyfriend. He had only known her for four days. It is interesting how easily a herd mentality is created though when it comes to voting people out. -

I'm not usually one for reality shows but this one has got me hooked. -
Wane is the type of coach that instead of encouraging the players to keep playing the way they did in the PNG game he would have spent the whole time complaining about PNGs 6 points. He does put a lot of detail into his coaching so maybe overcoaches at times, but maybe before the semi final he should have just said “the important thing is that we win, even if we end up making 20 errors in the process.” That might have got the players in a more positive frame of mind than putting all the focus on not making any errors and putting the players under more pressure than what they would have been feeling.

No one would want after what happened and the slightest research would reveal his disciplinary record. He’s more likely to be at Newcastle Thunder than Newcastle Knights.

As much as I would like a Samoa win or for Samoa to push Australia close I think Australia will win this fairly comfortably. The number of times I have seen Aussies refer to it as the World Cup Grand Final is irrationally annoying me, it must be because I’m not a really morning person and quite grouchy this morning.

England competed well but you're not going to win any game with the number of times the attack broke down when they were in NZs 20. You can only give them credit though for battling away against a bigger faster NZ team though. The Super League does need to become a full time comp however as they will never be able to make that final step otherwise.

For all of Wanes talk about how he would only pick form players you just knew that certain players were bound to be picked and McIlorum would be one of them. Although if he had picked more dynamic hookers who could run from dummy half they would have been wasted. From what I remember from Wigan under Wane the hookers rarely ran, if ever. I think it is something Wane just doesn’t seem to like.

Best format for RL World Cup
Liverpool Rover replied to League of XIII's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
As the tournament has gone on it has convinced me that, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, the bigger problem is the modern game and in international RL where teams are made up of players from such caring standards it is exacerbated even more. The game now is loaded in favour of the team in possession and there is just no hiding place for the weaker teams. -
Best format for RL World Cup
Liverpool Rover replied to League of XIII's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
There is nothing wrong with the format as it is. Blowouts happen in World Cups in other sports and they don’t get the criticism RL does. What isn’t helping is the six again rule, we’ve seen what happens in the NRL when the bottom teams come up against the top teams so when the teams with mainly part time players come up against the full time teams it’s no surprise that there are big blow outs. -
Sat 15 Oct: RLWC: England v Samoa KO 14:30
Liverpool Rover replied to John Drake's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
The best thing about it was that England didn’t let up and still kept piling on the points long after the result was decided. There will obviously be tougher tests but it bodes well for the rest of the tournament. -

England by 4. Samoa’s lack of a warm up will be a factor and can see England build up a lead but they will grow into the game and come back but England will hold on. -
Legal action confirmed
Liverpool Rover replied to Desert Skipper's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
I’ve never heard of this so I’ll give it a watch. Because of this it stopped other sports such as RL from bringing in measures earlier than they could have done. -

The difference between the NFL and RL is that the NFL did have evidence about the effects of repeated head blows and sat on it so it was revealed a lot later than it should. There is a film on it called Concussion. -
Legal action confirmed

They seem to be suing based on what is known now about the consequences of head injuries rather than what was known at the time. It was known that there was the risk of concussions but no one knew about the link between head injuries and dementia. -
IMG - Vote on Wednesday
Liverpool Rover replied to gingerjon's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
I trust that IMG will have clear goals to get an A grade so clubs like Keighley are probably more likely to get that grade and become a Super League club than at present. But if Keighleys chairman is happy being in the Championship and going no higher because they can never break the ceiling of the big Championship clubs steamrollering everyone else in the name of “sporting integrity” then that’s up to him.
