  1. Are you kidding? It's outstanding. Went to get one today but had to settle for a home one since they didn't have my size (massive).
  2. Maybe if you built a new shed for people to stand in, more would come?
  3. Hull KR lucky there. Player looked to attack the head on the floor, although the replays didn't run that far
  4. Brilliant effort by Cas - if we can string a few performances like that together we'll be doing OK for where we are in our rebuilding. Cain Robb absolutely has to start at hooker though. Something needs to be done about players running in and then getting the decision though. Yes, Miller was high but Thaler was OK with it until the Wigan man came piling in. Needs stopping.
  5. Deliberate knock ons should be a penalty and potentially a yellow card.
  6. Draw probably fair. Leigh wasteful at times, Cas great scramble defense and took their chances when they came. Great to see them battling to end - last year we would've collapsed at 24-10, but stuck at it
  7. There was mitigation, in that Field was falling. But the fact that it was a shoulder charge with no effort to wrap should be an aggrevating factor. Lucky it was only yellow
  8. As bad as Castleford have been so far, at least we expected it. I can't imagine what Hull FC fans are making of this mess
  9. It was a forearm directly to head. Falling attacker or not, and the Comms seem to think that isn't considered mitigating anyway, that should've been red
  10. Pele was charged with a Grade E offence, which carries a 4-6 ban. What has previous got to do with Pele getting a smaller ban than the minimum for the grade, despite a deliberate swinging arm to the head AND throwing a punch in the resulting melee?
  11. Fair play to Wigan, good value for the win. From a Cas perspective, a lot to be positive about. Last year, following the red card, we would have fallen apart and 70 would've been on. Instead, they kept going, worked hard. Still some questions about the attack, but defence is a huge upgrade on last year.
  12. Is picking someone up and dropping them on their head not forceful contact?
  13. I'm sorry, but how is what Watts just did worse than what Smith did?
  14. The "late hit" on Lomax - the Huddersfield player stood his ground, Lomax initiated contact, good no call. If Rugby League is serious about head injuries, incidents like Matty Lees' high shot on Ashton Goulding needs to be a red card. It was a swinging arm with direct contact to the head.
  15. Marshalled this week. Almost as much fun as doing the run. Even ran the last 500 metres or so with one of the back markers, offering encouragement. Given the heat, I'm glad I didn't run the whole thing!
  16. I'd like to try other ones, but I don't drive so it's difficult getting there. I've done Doncaster once, which was a nive change because it's flat.
  17. I love Park Run. I've been doing it at Thornes Park in Wakefield for about 18 months - this past weekend was my 56th (in addition to a handful of volunteering weeks) and I hate that it is not on this weekend coming! I'm not the fastest - until relatively recently I was the slowest. Started by walking round in just over 52 minutes. Set my PB a few weeks ago by doing a jog-walk-stagger combination at 39:11. You should have seen the celebrations when it was clear I'd got below 40 minutes! And not just from me either. Park Run is one of the most positive things in society right now. Don't know what I'd do without it.
  18. Book 2 at our book club is The Remains of the Day. I kept saying throughout reading it that it was rubbish and I didn't like it, but I read it in about 4 days (some kind of record for me), so it can't have been that bad. The image I had in my head, though, was of Grandpa Simpson and his rambling stories...
  19. We recently started a book club at work. I'm currently reading our first selection - A Handmaid's Tale. I didn't watch it when it was on TV so I had no preconceived ideas about (I didn't even know what it was about!). I'm not sure what to think about it yet (I'm about a third of the way through), other than it is very different from the sci-fi book I usually read!
