New punishments for using a mobile whilst driving.

Now the number of points and fine for being caught using a mobile device behind the wheel has been doubled, is it time to extend the law to include eating and drinking? Surely it would help reduce accidents as well as the amount of litter that now covers the side of main roads.

I use the junction on the A1 at Barnsdale Bar every day and the amount of paper cups, food wrappers and plastic bottles strewn along the side of the road is disgusting. I am even starting to see bags of rubbish appearing.

or put cctv at problem junctions, the amount of fines in a week would pay for them
