Wakey v Cas Womens' Challenge Cup Semi - Wow!

Recommended Posts

As the YEP explains, there isn't inconsistency in application of the rules by the RFL as some claim. It's the rules themselves which are different:

Quote

Operational rule C2:5:5 states: “Any club found guilty of playing an ineligible player shall be fined not less than £100 and the match may, subject to the management group’s discretion, be awarded to their opponents.

Men’s Challenge Cup rules state: “Any club that plays an ineligible player shall be disqualified save where the club did not know or suspect and could not reasonably have known or suspected even with the exercise of utmost caution that the player was ineligible.”

Having read the above I agree there wasn't inconsistency in application of the rules by the RFL. However, the inconsistency is the difference in the actual rules themselves for the two competitions.

Great win for Cas Ladies but then again not!

Cas Academy have been producing great girls teams for many years and Cas Ladies are reaping those rewards, as such they’re streets ahead of most other teams.

The Ladies game is so fledgling that wide disparities in quality between teams is  prevalent making results like this  inevitable.

We should stick with it and allow it to grow and improve  eventually making results like this less likely. During that process we should rightly recognise the achievements of quality teams but let’s be careful not to measure those achievements with the same barometer we use for the men’s game.

Totally agree with the above. However, the problem is - not that I have heard anyone within the women's RL world complaining about it - that some women in other sports (ie: football, cricket) have been pushing for equality of pay, etc, even though, as you quite rightly say, their achievements should not be measured against the men's game.

However, these days the politically-correct brigade are looking for any opportunity to promote their own agenda - and are getting the publicity to do so. I also hope we can just allow the women's RL game to evolve naturally without it being pushed into people's faces, as was the women's soccer world cup.

If it does fall victim to such overkill of promotion then, again as you rightly say, outsiders seeing a 100-0 scoreline might be put off the game far more easily than being attracted to it.

YAWN, big scores have been going on for 150 years in RL and sport in general since year dot (Aboath 36 Bon Accord 0), just go away if you're not bothered about supporting the sport or continually being negative because a team thrashed another team!

Not allowed an opinion now because it doesn't agree with yours grow up!

no, you grow up, yours wasn't an opinion, it was an unproven load of bile full of negativity that was/is utterly unjustified. People like you don't want to acknowledge the facts at hand, other sports have seen tonkings all the time and yet they have succeeded. Women's soccer for instance. If you're not supporting the game then you're agaonst it.

I disagree with you because what you said was false and typical outmoded narrow minded thinking, hence it's YOU that needs to grow up!
