On an organisational and management level having control of the whole sport makes perfect sense, but the idea of Batley v Storm on a Friday in February does seem appealing to me, especially as it would be a guaranteed two points for the Bulldogs and lots of predictable excuses from the whinging Diggers. A fixture list adding a few 'cross conference games' in and you pretty much double the amount of games each market can sell whilst not asking more of the players. Surely the fact the WCC doesnt hold prestige yet those games got good attendances backs up my opinion that there is a market for games between SL and NRL sides.
