NRL / Super League Merger

I think the point is the TGG fans obsessive need to find the negative and a trillion reasons for not doing something.

But on the face of it bringing League under one administrative roof would prove to be the last straw for the Brexit lovin' folk in't North.

And as for having the pink part of the map we reserved for criminals, ne'er do wells and scallywags come back to take control that might be a bridge too far too.

But what abart away fans!

'Ows tha s'posed to get t'Melbourne after werk on a Fridy neet? As tha seen t'm62 on a Fridy?

Mornin' scotchy hope you're well and everyone at yours.

I appreciated your post.

On an organisational and management level having control of the whole sport makes perfect sense, but the idea of Batley v Storm on a Friday in February does seem appealing to me, especially as it would be a guaranteed two points for the Bulldogs and lots of predictable excuses from the whinging Diggers. Magic Saturday reading and posting sorted, how good would that be?

Did you honestly think this thread is meant to be serious?

Yes I did. I read about half of the post and made the judgement it was trash ?

In my defence, there are plenty of similar themed threads on this forum written with honesty.

Sorry mate, it was meant to be a(n admittedly poor) parody of the absurd ideas some people have on this forum.

It would be great.

14 fully pro games per weekend, spread across 5 countries, 3 continents, all live and in 4k. From Thursday night to Monday morning back to back wall to wall rugby league.

Yes, wouldnt need to be a massive change.

A fixture list adding a few 'cross conference games' in and you pretty much double the amount of games each market can sell whilst not asking more of the players.

There would be absolutely no interest in this concept from fans in Australia and NZ. Who the heck is going to get up in the middle of the night to watch Salford v Cronulla?

Yes there would. Thats why the roosters v Wigan and Melbourne v Leeds were played in front of big crowds.

Can you really use the attendances for a Final to validate this?

Can we use games between the NRL and SL sides to validate the attendances for games between the NRL and SL sides?

Yes, im really not sure what else you would possibly use.

You’re using attendances of a big game, a Final in fact, to validate this opinion.

Based off your opinion, Catalans v Wigan whenever they play next should get 30,000+.

Catalans v Wigan wasnt a final buddy.

Im not sure the current WCC holds that much prestige to be honest.

You’ve tied yourself in knots here. The WCC doesn’t hold prestige but you’re using attendances from the WCC to try and back up your opinion.

Not even 9am and you’ve got yourself in that daily hole. Congratulations.

lol

You really confused yourself there.

Surely the fact the WCC doesnt hold prestige yet those games got good attendances backs up my opinion that there is a market for games between SL and NRL sides.

It doesn’t. It’s not a good enough sample size to prove anything at all.

You keep peddling two games in Australia in 25+ years as some kind of sample size ?

The only sensible suggestion from the OP is to relocate Wire. Anywhere will do.
