Yes, think someone posted it earlier. The plan is to basically concrete the banks to make standing areas. Sure they can be tweaked as well depending on numbers.

Don't understand why someone would have such a downer on a club trying to build itself and on people being genuinely excited that a club like eagles finally get to play in their home city again after everything they have been through... oh yes its Rugby League so everyone has to be down on everything positive. Ffs Exactly. They’re building back from where they can. It’s to be respected, fair play to them. One step at a time.
Faithful1865
I wish them nothing but good luck. They are ex Challenge Cup winners and deserve the opportunity to take the club forward. Having a permanent base will do just that. Another ground for us to visit.

Leyther_Matt
Ground gripe number one. How is it that the Welsh Premier League and S4C can insist on a minimum standard of a permanent raised TV gantry, but it’s acceptable for (subscription based) RL to be filmed while stood on top of a Ford Escort? From a spectator point of view it looks a bonny view on the verge behind the sticks

"To be provided for any televised games in form satisfactory from time to time to the host broadcaster" So as long as Premier are okay with whatever they're given then that's that. 1 Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Well, the key word is "raised". It's on top of the Ford Escort. 1 "We'll sell you a seat .... but you'll only need the edge of it!"

From a spectator point of view it looks a bonny view on the verge behind the sticks Luckily we already have a solution for that.. As you can see, the gantry is a scaffold tower and therefore quite easy, if premier sports have an issue, to raise. I have even got hold of an artists impression (as we all like those in Rugby League) of how it might work. Artists impression Problem solved..

From a spectator point of view it looks a bonny view on the verge behind the sticks I was really impressed by the stand and facilities, a few little teething issues with the PA.. Assume they still need to put the scoreboard up too as that would be useful! but other than that it was really nice. Good to be able to go and stand the other side of the pitch too and think in the summer that will be a good option (also means I can move away from the 4 16 year old idiots sat behind me that didnt seem to know the rules but would shout at the ref continuously, and call players the end of a bell which wasnt really appropriate but they thought it was hilarious, sadly the irony was lost on them).. Other than them the atmosphere was great, the game was great and the result was excellent. Was easy to park near it too, loads of roads with free parking (probably helps i go to the area relatively regularly for meetings) but a little drive around and its easy for anyone to find. very happy with our new home.. now the hard work begins which is making sure they get those people there last night to keep going (they have our emails as it was all ticket).. some people turned away at the gate as they thought they could buy on the day, but I assume they just walked around the side and stood behind the fence and could still watch, hopefully they will be back too (and pay in!). 4

I genuinely felt sorry for some of the Eagles staff that have worked so hard to get everything up and running for this season, a couple of delays (lost money) and then having this dropped on us by SCC.. those on the door having to turn people away that obviously hadnt read the papers/internet etc i felt very sorry for. With a club like ours you really dont want to be turning people away. But its a start and we can only move on from here and it looks positive IMHO

To be fair, Matt, if you're looking for justification, every WPL game is covered on Sgorio. Sixteen league games apiece. Sheffield have got one game scheduled so far. Maybe there'll be more later, maybe not. "We'll sell you a seat .... but you'll only need the edge of it!"

It wasn't a dig at Sheffield as such, Griff, more the ever lax application of minimum standards (if such a thing ever existed). Some of the camera gantries at WPL grounds are a little brutalist to say the least, but it does ensure a tremendous quality of coverage for a league that has average gates in the low hundreds!

The FAW Tier 1 licence standards are a thing of beauty. https://www.faw.cymru/files/4416/3118/4102/FAW_Tier_1_Club_Licensing_Regulations_2021.pdf And they do actually seem to work. The BBC Radio Merseyside presenters seemed to be commentating without proper mics etc, and kept having to move round the ground to try to find somewhere quiet. Pretty much inaudible at times. So I assume there is still further work to be done in terms of media facilities.

Finally got to Manchester Airport via Chapel en le Frith, the A6 and the Eastern Manchester by pass only to find I couldn't join the M56 West bound because they'd shut that off as well. The joys of following Widnes away. 1 Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.
