Lachlan Lam v Drew Hutchison

Can anyone tell me how the Roosters coach can prefer Drew Hutchison to Lachlan Lam as back up half back this season? Didn’t Lam have a stellar season last year, guiding them to the finals. Plus he was outstanding in PNG ‘s win over Fiji three weeks ago. Furthermore, we in England can still remember Hutchison’s less than outstanding performances in the 2018 championship season (1 grade below Superleague) for Leigh, which ultimately cost promotion.

At a guess, happy to let Lam steady himself back from injury in the Championship.

I’ve seen Hutchinson predominantly play hooker this year, which suits him better. He’s got a good kicking game, good distribution and is a decent defender. He has no pace though so won’t ever make a dart out of dummy half. 
 

Lam is definitely a better option at half back though
