Pathetic disciplinary

Recommended Posts

WTF is going on with NRL disciplinary? It went through a phase of being ultra strict and now it’s a free for all. It’s embarrassing and punishments are so lenient that players are now pushing it more and more. There’s some despicable acts in recent weeks that barely get punished. When are the NRL going to wake up? Is it going to take another serious career ending injury? Or a lawsuit?

Just seems like a lack of consistency where James Tamou gets a one match ban for foul mouthing the ref because the player and his rep produced a sob story that the panel including two ex players swallowed because he was a “good guy”. So much for supporting refs.

Brandon Smith, granted not an angel, got three matches for ref abuse.

For me consistency is the key here. 3 or more likely a four match penalty would have been appropriate for both and any other player. Refs aren’t perfect, but they need to know they are supported and that  mouthing off at them saying they are either cheats or incompetent will be punished properly.

He does that in almost every tackle. I don’t understand how he gets away with it
