The Grand Final as a spectator event

Why wouldn’t you add all the extras to make it an absolute spectacle.  For gods sake it’s the game of the season.  If we can’t make it an occasion non fans look at and think I wouldn’t mind being their next time that looked incredible then we should give up now.

Wembley finals, grand finals and internationals were far more of a spectacle in years gone by than they are now…thats why people booked up a year in advance and the stadia were filled.

The marketing gurus then came in, told us what a spectacle was and look what happened.

Once you lose peoples interest it is difficult to get them back.

Never mind…at least we consulted the “experts”

"Oh no, we might have some people in the ground who don't know why 1895 is important and don't have a firm opinion on the six again rule but they thought this looked like being a fun evening. This is a disaster."

Imagine if we had a RLWC or a Challenge Cup Final opening ceremony which explained why 1895 was important or the history of say the World Cup formation? That would be both entertaining and about the game.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.
