Mark Posted November 12 Author Posted November 12 I like it. better then some of the previous efforts "When you participate in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose; it's how drunk you get." -Homer Simpson "I couldn't be more chuffed if I were a badger at the start of the mating season" Ian Holloway
Sailaway Posted November 16 Posted November 16 (edited) Two recent additions to the squad. Kian Morgan, a centre who was with Oldham for the last three seasons. Harry Higham, an outside back from Wigan reserves who is the son of Mickey Higham. Edited November 16 by Sailaway
wayner Posted November 17 Posted November 17 Is that 16 players signed so far - lots of young players in the list so we definitely need some more experienced players and ideally a leader to marshal the team as Patton ............. all looking very positive
wayner Posted November 17 Posted November 17 Adam Sidlow signing now confirmed - great news - Oldham fans have spoken really highly of him and he will bring the game management and experience that the team will need.........

A good signing as you say Wayner. I think that is Swinton's 16th confirmed recruit. A similar experienced player for the backs would help as apart from Abram they look a bit on the youthful side. Hopefully there will at least a couple of gems amongst them.
Urge Posted November 18 Posted November 18 There's 27 people on the photo at the end of the training vid and that's including Paul Wood, Paul Anderson and Dougie, so a squad of around 24? It's a very young squad. Has Rhys Williams called it a day or moved elsewhere, I was hoping he would sign on?

He had a 2 year contract but it was void when we went down, rumours from Batley that he was going there but nothing mentioned. I hope he does sign on for us again "When you participate in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose; it's how drunk you get." -Homer Simpson "I couldn't be more chuffed if I were a badger at the start of the mating season" Ian Holloway

Yes I thought we hadn't signed that many players I think the back line does look youthful. I also heard that Batley were interested in Williams - personally I would have thought if Williams was going to sign he would have done so by now - would be good to have him in the back line.
wayner Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Just read on Batley supporters page that they signed Jack Render who scored Hunslet's winning try - he looked a decent player but was on DR at Hunslet ? So hopefully Williams will resign for us.
Mark Posted November 18 Author Posted November 18 Jordan Paga, Half back, just announced from Oldham "When you participate in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose; it's how drunk you get." -Homer Simpson "I couldn't be more chuffed if I were a badger at the start of the mating season" Ian Holloway
m brooksy Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Paga will be great in League One at either full back or stand off. Breaks loads of tackles and very dangerous close to the line. If you can keep Sidlow fit he should be one of the best props in the league as he's a mountain of a man with a great offload. 1

wayner Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Oh well - I see in Mark's list there are 17 players I think Jamie Redcliffe has resigned so that's 18 but there seemed more than 18 players excluding coaching staff at the training session posted on X - so players on trial or signed but no official announcements yet - club does like to drip feed news of signings
Urge Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Been trying to figure out who the two guys in the training video not in Swinton kit are. Based off his jacket this seems to be Danny Lynch who plays for Haresfinch and Ireland, the other guy (not in the photo), could be Aaron Lynch but that's just a guess.

wayner Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Not really Mark, Jamie works at the same company as a mate of mine - so I was told several weeks ago that he had signed. I believe Paul Wood has coached Jamie Reddecliff when he was a junior so that was probably a factor in him re-joining club because I am pretty sure was fed last season having signed, trained and never got any game time. I don't really like the drip feeding of news about signings 1

wayner Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Maybe a recognised winger and loose forward will be announced in the next raft of player signings I hope
