Challenge Cup 2nd Round - Hammersmith/Siddal (H)

On Monday it was confirmed we will host the winners of the first round clash between Southern Conference League Champions Hammersmith Hills Hoists and National Conference League Premier Finalists Siddal.

Game will be played weekend of 25/26 January. 

Guaranteed a bit of history as we've never played either Hammersmith or Siddal, and I'll probably head down to Chiswick to watch the First Round tie.

We're yet to lose to a NCL/community side since joining League 1, having beaten:

- 2018: Distington ARLFC (42-12);

- 2018: Pilkington Recs (31-20);

- 2023: Hull Dockers (4-50); and

- 2023: Orrell St James (12-19) 

But we definitely can't take either team lightly - Siddal have shown they can run semi/professional clubs close (remember Toronto?) and Hammersmith made it to the 4th Round last year and had a respectable performance against Halifax. 

Any preferences? Happy with either but Hammersmith would be a nice "expansion" fixture.

Should have specified that I meant since we joined League 1 in 2015! Great memory Bearman going back to the 2005 archives.

Would be good to see Hammersmith progress to the 2nd round and I'd be happy to watch us play them. On the other hand I'd like us to smash Siddal just to make that point about the difference between top NCL and League 1 sides.
