We always enjoy it when you contribute to this thread with your comments whether they be about difficulties, questions, suggestions , progress or lack of it. You’ll find contributors are generous and friendly.
Some entrants have been in this comp for quite a few years, for others it’s their first season on here. You are all welcome. Good luck.

This season is the 20th NRL Supercoach competition on this forum. Before that I did have two or three seasons when I ran an NRL Fantasy league on here. The switch to NRL Supercoach proved popular in that the SC leagues have subsequently always been full.

We look forward to hearing from you on here. Please feel free to post questions, make suggestions or chat generally.

Your SuperCoach NRL squad is awarded points based on the real performances of the real players in each game, throughout the 27-round NRL home-and-away Season. Points scored by your team each round are based on the performance of your "Best 17 players" from your starting line-up of 18 (including your Flex player selection) for each round, which includes your on-field 14 and FOUR selected Reserves from your Bench.

The remaining players on your Substitutes list don't score, unless an automatic emergency is required to replace ONE zero-scoring player in your Starting 18 who didn't play. The automatic emergency will be the lowest scoring player who receives a score greater than 0 from your Substitutes list, who is not picked as one of your four reserves. If the automatic emergency is required, they are substituted into your Starting 18, with the Best 17 scores then contributing to your team score.

Less than 48 hours to Team List Tuesday for Round 1a. Here's  hoping the cheapies I've picked are picked by their respective coaches.

Only just starting to assemble my team.  The first Team List Tuesday is always a scramble to rearrange your lineup to include those cheapies who appear from nowhere and look to be in place for the first few games at least.  Time to catch up on a few podcasts and get a feel of what has been going on in the trial games.

We only get to see 4 teams this week as well, which means those players on the fringes at the teams playing Round 1b are an even bigger gamble.

Lock in your Vegas players and the other players you can still change freely until just before Part 2 of Round 1 kicks off... have I got that right?

Correct.

Assuming you go with big gun at HFB...

Cleary or Hynes?

Cleary hasn't played since his shoulder reconstruction, but has full control of his team with Luai having moved on.

Hynes is fully fit (which he wasn't for the 2nd half of last season), but has Trindall taking more responsibility.

Tomato Tomato, Potato Potato. Nicho for me, just because of the concern over Nathan's shoulder.

And Jahrome Hughes when we get to Origin time.

It's got to be both for me.

In an ideal world we would have two gun half backs and three gun full backs. However, that would leave you with duds in CTW or 2RF.

Those are the positions I will be looking to upgrade first, when (if) my cheapies have increased in value.

If it’s one or the other I reckon Hynes is the better value/bet.
Both would be great but would likely unbalance elsewhere.

That’s what I said, but when I looked at the squad I’d actually selected, Cleary was there and Hynes wasn’t! Doh!

I’m not really settled in the HKR dept.

Connor Watson and S Smith?

M Plath and  Mamouzelos?

others?

I've seen a lot of teams with 2 cheapies, usually Mamouzelos and Smith. I like the idea of Watson or Plath, both with dual 2RF status, probably with Smith or Pattie (if I can get over my fears of picking Ricky Stuart coached players). It would have been Grant and a cheapy if Storm didn't have the early bye.

I'm risking the 2 cheapie option at HKR, Paix & Smith.  Both should get good minutes and Smith is expected to be goal kicker as well.

Could be a masterstroke or an absolute nightmare.😆

Keep an eye on the new kid at Parra, who tore up the trials and has just had his contract upgraded. He may be an option.

Not sure about Paix. There are so many Broncos who can play 9 (Mozer, Walters, Smoothy) that I worry about his job security and minutes on the field.

Smith is still very relevant for me.

I went with Cleary over Hynes and Duffy as my 2nd halfback. I took your advice and you can't have everyone and spreading cash is important. Hopefully Metcalf bounces back. If he doesn't then I have kept cash in the bank to upgrade. Went cheap at HOK and FRF (aside from May). Originally had Yeo but he's just too expensive and wanted three solid options in my 2RF. My centre/wings I'm still settling on.

Some stunning first round scores. I have never scored 1250 + in Round 1 before, but it looks as though I will lose my head to head and be well down the overall rankings. Its going to be a tough competition this year.
