Matt Peet disappointed by Wigan Warriors’ defence in huge win

MATT PEET saw his Wigan Warriors side score 72 points against York Knights – but struggled to look past the 20 conceded in the final ten minutes.

Wigan posted 13 tries in 55 sensational minutes but head coach Peet was disappointed to see his in-form side take their foot off the gas.

“I’ve no complaints with what they did with the ball,” said Peet.

“It’s a bit of a strange one because it felt like we had sections of the ball uninterrupted, because we were posting points, so you can’t take away from the lads that they were pretty ruthless at times.

“We’ve got that speed and skill to play, and the lads are confident. I just thought when it was time to defend a few times, we could have been a little bit better.

“We can’t gloss over it – if you let them become habits, then it’s a dangerous thing.”
