Salford add Jake Spedding to squad

SALFORD have signed experienced outside back Jake Spedding, who started this season with North Wales before becoming a free agent following their insolvency event.

He was part of the Crusaders side who won last year’s League One title having previously played for Swinton.

A St Helens product who played four times for their first team, the Leeds-born 29-year-old has also been with Barrow, Featherstone and Widnes. He is closing in on 150 career games and 50 tries.

His former North Wales and now Salford teammate Shaun Costello has praised supporters for their continued backing of Dave Hewitt’s side.

The forward said: “I’m loving it here. When you’re playing in front of all these fans, it’s like a home game even when we are away.

“I always try and do my best for them, and as long as the lads are giving everything on the field, I think they will keep backing us.”
