Sam Eseh attracted by Bradford Bulls’ ambition

SAM ESEH has explained that the ambition of the Bradford Bulls was enough to persuade him to make the move from Wigan Warriors.

The 22-year-old made his Super League debut as a 19-year-old for Wakefield Trinity and has since featured 30 times in the top tier – with spells at Hull FC and Leeds Rhinos alongside the Warriors.

However, Eseh signed a three-year deal with the Bulls earlier in the year and now he has explained how that move came about.

“The move happened over the course of a few weeks. My agent and I had a conversation about not staying at Wigan and potentially moving on,” Eseh said.

“Opportunities came up and I had a meeting with Kurt (Haggerty), Jason (Hirst) and Brian Noble. We didn’t actually talk about rugby the whole time.

“It was more about the people at Bradford, where the club is going and the ambition of the club.

“I think from the first meeting with them, I could see how much they all loved the club and I just think I really wanted to be a part of it.”

Eseh has already thrown himself into life at Bradford, meeting some of the club’s fans.

And the 22-year-old knows just how important it is to get the supporters and players all singing off the same hymn sheet moving forward.

“The fans are the people that we play for. They are the people that help get us through the tough times and that we listen to.

“It’s massive to get to know the people you are representing. I’ve met some lovely people since I got here.

“From what I’ve seen so far, it’s a really tight-knit club. You’ve got to get involved in that and comfortable straightaway.”
