GOOLE VIKINGS might have had an inconsistent season so far – but Jack Miller insists they can climb the ladder.
Scott Taylor’s side have been catapulted into the merged second tier, bringing a higher level of opposition, in only their second campaign in the professional ranks.
Goole finished seventh in League One last year, after which halfback Miller joined from Rochdale, having started the season at Keighley.
And the 31-year-old, who has also played for Huddersfield, Doncaster and Newcastle, said: “We’re not here just to make up the numbers.
“We want to perform every week. We’re here to pick up as many wins as possible. And that is the approach of us all.
“There is strong competition for every shirt. Everyone is ripping in to get their hands on one. That shows the standard we have here.
“I don’t think people realise how good a team we are and how many quality players we’ve got. I honestly think the sky is the limit.”
Goole are next in action at home to Miller’s old club Keighley, with whom he won the Championship Player of the Year award in 2022, on Saturday week, June 20.
