this pi@@es me off week in week out players do not play the ball WHY a rule is a rule its high time the RL and the refs got a grip if not why have any rules

The Tansey decision was a correct one, no arguments about that, he did it on more than one occasion, but why last night did Ganson decided when and when not to follow the laws of the game?

Didn't Ryan Hall make a 'try blunder' on Friday night by dropping the ball when over the line, why is there now thread about this, bet he earns more then Ganson, so in Micks' reasoning he shouldn't make mistakes?
Everyone makes mistakes and as has been said nobody picked Gansons up until the slo mo, even the Hull fans who were stood at that end.

Just seen all the tries, full speed, sky sports news.
No replays of any, all seemed valid tries at full speed.
Without this thread I wouldn't have had any doubt about any of them.
If we want to have super slo-mo replays on every try if the ball rolls free after scoring, as can happen, the games will go on to midnight.
Incidentally, I thought a try was chalked off because of a player in front of the ptb being in front of it, and taking part in the play, not for an incorrect ptb itself.

Agreed and Yes

I think some people need this thread in slo-mo and replay wink.gif

I'll raise you a amen brother to that.

I just can't get my head around the fact that Wakefield last week blowing cold against Rovers, while Hull were teaching us a few things at Odsal, but then today we see a total reverse for both sides.

Ahh but a Super League side shold have put 40 past you

This thread is quite unbelievable - just when I thought Mick had reached a new low he comes up with this nonsense.

Never thought I'd say this but I agree with every thing that Padge has written (ONLY on this thread mind!!! smile.gif )

Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

That is correct, though some on here will never be convinced otherwise.

I think this thread should be brought to a close.

How anyone in their right mind can want any part of that game shown again, let alone in slow motion bloody replay, is beyond me.
On 13/2/2013, Hull City's owners the Allams, released a statement in their position as the owners of the KC Stadium Management Committee. One line in this statement read as follows....

"The SMC's principal responsibility is to remain neutral"

Agreed mate.

Ganson got it wrong but it happens. He's not bent or dishonest, and is a decent ref by and large IMO.

Time to knock it on the head and move on.

But it wasn't clear that it wasn't a try, as I said before nobody said a beep until Sky showed the ultra slo-mo from behind the sticks. Until then neither the commentators nor the Hull fans complained, until that point it was clearly a try.

I think it's fair to say it 'was't clear' enough to rule it out, but on the original showing on Sky, even at full speed it looked suspicious , to be honest I was surprised he didn't go to the video and I think most other refs would have done. Ganson being Ganson though, didn't.

Ganson said to the touchie, not played correctly after the vr decision.
Completely agree about the ptb, if you penalise one incorrect you have to penalise all of them and to properly police it we need 2 refs!

As for the Cooke "try" the fact is it should not have been awarded and the official should use every available option to come to crucial decisions

Well if there's a worse referee than Ronnie Lawton, I haven't seen him. You know how when you watch two other teams play how much the ref's performances improve? It doesn't workd with Lawton. I've been to see Batley v Barrow and Lawton was what can only be described as dire. First half Batley had the wind the slope and Lawton in their favour. He condoned a blatant high tackle and and missed a blatant knock on, and he sinbinned a Barrow player. Second half, he allowed Barrow to stand well off-side, allowed another blatant high tackle (by Barrow this time) and awarded Barrow a try of an obvious knock-on.

Ganson made a mistake by not going to the VR but am I the only person who thinks if he had of gone the VR would have awarded the try anyway. For me as they are going over the line the Hull defender pulls the ball out and Cooke is the first to fall on it.

I'm sorry but Steve Ganson was stood there looking at it and failed to see Paul Cooke drop the ball over the line and he gives the try.

The Hull fans have every right to be shouting obscenities at him.

Maybe you ought to take another look too?

I admit that I thought what you state was the case also, but then I realised that Cooke had not DROPPED the ball at all, the tackling player in fact pushed the ball out of Cookes hands and he simply touched down what was a loose ball in the process..........TRY!

Ganson was spot on with his instant decision and owes no apologies at all to fans from anywhere for doing so.

That was my take on it too. What I find really amazing and in all honesty just a little disappointing is that despite having obviously spent so much time scrutinising this particular incident that Mick actually couldn't see this for himself but then again I guess that as it doesn't fit in with his constant need to abuse and attempt to belittle the match officials he would see exactly what he wants to see which isn't necessarily what is actually there for all to see on the screen.

People complain when the ref goes to the video for every try and when he sees a perfectly good try at normal speed and backs his judgement to what he has seen people pull him apart, they cant win can they?
As I have already stated watching the video the Hull player strips the ball from Cookes grasp and he drops on the ball, so all in all it was a fair try whichever way it was given...

Everyone's missing the point - Paul Cooke should have held his hand up and admitted he didn't have control of the ball and lost it over the line....

It merely reinstates what every Hull fan already knew that he's a cad and a bounder and of low moral fibre dry.gif

Correct.
Astute analysis from a Wigan fan:

Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.

It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.

Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

The defender knocked the ball out of Cooke's grasp who then touched the ball down so it should have been a try - watch the slow mo replay again closely and you will see it

The penalties for incorrect PTBs were one each, a typical rubbish new rule tactic
