The truth is they don't need their pitch churning up on a wet February night, they get more for moving up 1 place in the table than we can raise in ticket revenues from the match

Hiring football grounds used to be much less expensive when they needed the cash, now they really don't

Then why are we bothering? Seriously if an hours drive means that our world final gets 20k then why are we going to the effort of disrupting our season for it?
I think if we put as much effort in to a final at Elland Road ad we did this year it probably won't be a great success. But I'm not sure why we beg and and plead for the Aussies to come over, disrupt our season for it only to do next to no promotion of it.

because we are broke, with weak leadership that have no idea how to increase overall revenue meaning we need the matches to turn a healthy profit.also, do you want to be beholden to whichever crook owns lufc this week?

firstly I don't think we should wed ourselves to February. But there are plenty of grounds we could use. Why not St James' Park? People love a night out in Newcastle it's out of the heartlands so has expansion potential but not too far to harm the logistics. Or Elland Road? Smack bang in the heartlands. Had we stuck it there after 2005 and really made a go of it there is a good chance that right now this conversation is a complaint that 37k capacity at Elland Road isn't enough as opposed to congratulating ourselves on 18k.

Saints at elland rd would be less than 20k, we're kidding ourselves to think otherwise
