People who steal glasses from pubs. Went into a nearby boozer I've taken to visiting often on account of them selling Hoegaarden only to be asked if it's ok in a different glass because all of their Hoegaarden glasses have now been nicked. I was only in 3 days prior and I had 2 pints in proper Hoegaarden glasses.

Agree 100%. If they're verified on Untapped then their menus and new arrivals are updated which often inspires me to go visit them. If they update via their website ala Holmes Mill then same result.

Yeah I was genuinely surprised at how good it was because with the ABV being relatively low I wasn't expecting too much from it. I'd definitely have it again.

Clitheroe. Ribble Valley. Sounds nice doesn't it? Well I'm here to tell you... Yep. It is. Very nice actually. I've had the good fortune to visit Clitheroe many, many times over the years and my liking of the place as never diminished and in terms of having a beer I am of the opinion that it has only got better. Today the wife and I paid our first visit of the year and we had a very good time. Bit of context (not that it's needed but you know how I like to ramble on...) we decided to limit ourselves to just 4 beers today (other things to do) so I suggested that we choose 2 places each and the following are the ones we decided upon. 1) The Beer Shack My choice. Love this place. Always a good choice of Cask and Keg Ales on offer and more importantly to me... The only place I've yet encountered that as Hofmeister Weisse so it's an easy number 1 pick. I had the aforementioned beer. 2) New Inn The wife's choice. Superb traditional pub near the castle. Plenty of choice here and a friendly welcome. I had a wonderful Hop,Skip & Juice from Vocation. Beer gardens front and rear for the warmer months as well. 3) Holmes Mill Wife's second choice. The Beer Hall here is enormous and I'm not exaggerating. It's huge. Home to Bowland Brewery and a fantastic real ale place. Changes beer line up every week (menu goes online every Thursday so you can check in advance) and it can sometimes be hard to choose due being so much the choose from. I went for a Bitter from Marbles Beers and it was absolutely superb. There's a load of other things to here so well worth a visit. Again loads of outdoor space for when the sun is shinning. 4) The Ale House My second choice. It's exactly what the name suggests that it may be. Craft ale bar with plenty of choice. I actually joined the wife with a Lager.. Hofbrau session at a mere 3.3 % which was far better than I was expecting it to be. Very refreshing. So despite being told when I was young that you shouldn't mix your drinks I had a Wheat Beer, a Hazy Pale Ale, a Bitter and a Lager So that was today. There are plenty of other places in Clitheroe and the town is well worth a visit.

Ramsbottom. I'll let those of you (if there is indeed any of you who haven't yet) have a quick little guffaw at the name before I ramble on once again about me, myself and I and beer. Now, Rammy (yep that's what some of us call it) is a lovely little place that is well worth a visit for many reasons and as it happens... Beer is a mighty good reason to go there. Hurrah. Now to cut a long story barely shorter .. the other week I wandered in via a Rawtenstall walk just to extend said walk and pop into a huge favourite of mine the incomparable Irwell Works Brewery but something else occurred. Shock. Now first of all if you are a lover of traditional ale then the Irwell is a must visit. Beer brewed on site and it's fantastic. Personally I go for the Tin Plate which is an incredible Dark Mild but they also do two bitters (Steam Plate being my choice) and various other ales that are highly rated. Now second of all. The fantastic Casked from Rawtenstall also have a venue here in Rammy. Also a must visit for any craft beer afficiandos. However... The purpose of my visit today was because of what happened on my previous visit to Rammy whilst I was heading to the bus stop to take me homewards. What happend I hear you say? Well I'll tell ya. I saw a beer sign. So what? I hear you say... Beer sign in question was Weihenstepahan aka the world's oldest brewery? They also happen to brew my fave Weiss Beer. Anyway to extend a shortened long story further... I messaged the bar with the sign 'Wunderbar' and was delighted with the response I received. I visited today and was blown away. It's a small place. A bar and rotisserie. The welcome I was given was amazing. The beer on offer was amazing. They have a beer menu.... I could go on but I'm not going to ("Phew" Who said that?) because nothing I could say would give justice to what I found today. Just go.

Never been in Plau but with your goodself and Shaun mentioning it I've checked it out online. Looks excellent and will definitely pop in next time I'm in Preston. Thanks for that recommendation gents

The Black Horse is an amazing pub. Deserves all the awards it as won over the years.

I'm so bad at updating this thread. Apologies. Anyway... Swift visit solo to Preston today. I'm gonna assume that quite a few of you are familiar with Preston? Normally I would start the day at 1842 but fair do to them they are shut for a couple of weeks to give their staff a rest after Xmas. If you don't know what the 1842 refers to them I'm gonna let you Google it rather than get 'political' but know that I personally always take a silent moment outside to remember what happened. Anyways.... Started at Chain House Brewing for an amazing Caramel Stout from Brew House Beer (Birmingham?). Expensive but more than worth it. Aroma to die for and a beautiful mouth feel. Next up the fantastic Winckley Street Ale House. I had a bottle of Konig Ludwig Weiss Beer aka Wheat Beer but loads of choice in here for beer afficiandos. Recommended place. Next up was Plug and Taps (across from 1842) for another Konig but once again another place with loads of choice for the afficiandos. All too soon I was on my last one before the bus at the marvellous Guild Ale House for a Paulaner Wheat Beer. Fantastic place. Go sit upstairs for a peaceful pint whilst looking out the windows at the history across the road. Preston as so much more. Go visit. Enjoy.

The interview wasn't 'good telly' as far as I was concerned but apparently it's what passes as entertainment these days. I enjoyed the match itself because that WAS 'good telly' and was the best (at times) that I'd seen Cross play of late.

To be honest I can't help but think that rushing on stage to interview the players isn't always a good idea. Perhaps waiting for them to come off and then interview them away from the stage is the way forward after a tense match?

Incredible performance from Hood.

Tomb Raider Legend playthrough finished and have now opted for the mindless fun of Saints Row 4. I've played through this a couple of times in the past but this time I'm doing it with the option of Nolan North voicing my character... It's making me laugh big time -

I see gaming very much in the same way as I see reading or watching films ... an escape. Some way to 'turn off' the distractions of 'so called' real life and relax. Many game publishers however see it as dollars signs and force developers to infect many of their products with addictive FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) and disgusting gambling techniques. Unfortunately for them ... They lost me many years ago and now I game purely for fun and escape. It's also been good to see how many people have also refused to accept their garbage. I'm currently playing the Xbox 360 version of Tomb Raider Legend.
