Like us, you had a share of youth players, like us you failed to develop enough of them. You still are not giving youth a chance. But its all our fault. Our young players are not the reason we are 13th. I will wait and see before i write these lads off. Our current 18s are not doing great admittedly. However, the 16s by all accounts are an excellent group. Only losing one game this season to the saints side. Even though we scored more tries, but missing all but one converstion.

You're mixing up producing players with turning them into elite players. FC and KR have underachieved considering the amount of players in this city, so I'm not pretending we have got everything right. I don't get this "FC academy is a myth" argument. We've produced Danny Houghton, Josh Hodgson, Dean Hadley, Jez Litten, Jack Brown, Connor Wynne, Liam Harris, Will Gardiner and Jansin Turgut. Now we've got Martin, Barron, Litten, Moy, Clark, the Kemp twins, Dawson, Ward and Johnson coming through, with the current U16s also highly rated by plenty of people. Hodgson, Hadley and Litten actually prove the opposite of your point. They all started their professional careers at fc before moving to Rovers for more opportunities. You deserve credit for developing them further, but we still produced them. You also say our youngsters aren't good enough for you, yet you've signed Jack Brown, Jack Charles and Ryan Westerman from us. If our development is such a myth, why do KR keep taking our players? As for Martin, Barron, Litten and the others, they're only 18–22. Writing them off now is just guesswork. One last point. you need to speak to your fellow fans cos they have been clamouring for Charles to play..again!

You don't judge an academy youth by asking whether every player will walk into a top six team. Surely, they should measured on whether they're good enough to earn first-team minutes at their club, improve over time and become regular SL players. Plenty of players who weren't top-six standard at the start of their careers became quality players later. Anyway, with your youth system and your excellent pathways. Im sure you can show us all how its done

Mikey Lewis at the RFL Disciplinary…

It's hard to put your finger on exactly how it's got to this. Other ex-players don't seem to get the same level of stick. I imagine the frustration and anger, both from him and his family, over not being signed by FC and putting it out there probably didn't help. His behaviour in some games won't have helped either. It's actually quite sad, and I imagine it's tough for him. The best thing he can do is knuckle down, show a bit of humility, avoid playing up to the crowd, and hopefully the idiots will eventually get off his back.
