Bearman
That's a big loss. A good kicker is a must. Now, as someone who has trouble kicking the cat. Is it just question of someone with a bit of ability having specialised kick coaching? I know Dave Aldred is considered a kicking guru and I suppose there must be others that can teach the techniques. Am I right in thinking it's learn the technique then practise, practise and practise some more. Or am I being simplistic? morty
Ron, Im a believer its a skill that you either have or you don't have !! Either way its not just his place kicking we will miss :-( Once again its our geographical location that's hindering keeping players as I believe Chris has just started a new job so you cant blame him for getting a club closer to home !! alba
At the end of the season there will be players coming and going, Chris has been brilliant as part of the improvement on and off the field at the club, and I am sure the aim is to keep this process going, if that happens next year should be a cracker, whichever league we are in. My main disappointment this year has been Liam Campbell not playing in this squad, and would like to wish him well, a pleasure to watch.

TOSH1960
Dave Aldred is an amazing kicking coach. I was blessed by him in both Union and League but it doesn't just rub off. You have to work hard and some do and succeed and others fail miserably.
beachy01
fully agree with you Morty, either you have it or you dont! matty smith is THE worst goal kicker ive seen in a long time and he had Jonny Wilkinson as his kicking coach for a while. from what i saw Hankinson was an exceptional kicker and will be hard to replace
