  1. No more sceptical than the rest of us Nick but at least this sets out a framework that clubs should operate within. If they don't then there is even one fewer complaint that they can make when they get found out. Why clubs would even want to overspend in this day and age confounds me. We did it once during my time of watching and it was nearly the death of us.
  2. Don't worry - Newcastle will bail them out.
  3. Well, every single club had an A team and there were no restrictions on who could play for them. In addition there were highly competitive and relatively prestigious leagues to be won. There was also a retain and transfer system, which is often overlooked.
  4. This has been introduced due to the requests from Championship clubs for a cap - it hasn't been imposed from on high.
  5. Weren't "oversights" cited under the old regime? I hope that it is nothing more though.
  6. Weren't you given a short-term dispensation on the number of loan players that could sign? I believe that this has now ended.
  7. Might the football World Cup have had an effect?
  8. Wednesday 19th August, 7.00pm. Not got much on that week, after all.
  9. I tend to think that "personal reasons" means that it is nobody else's business to know.
  10. Good thing or not? I'm sure that we were enthusiastic supporters of this proposal.
  11. Wow, you're right!! I bet the RFL never thought about this.
  12. And they also avoid the significant costs of owning their own ground. I'm sure that KN would be happy to tell you how owning your own ground nowadays is a double-edged sword, unless you are generating significant secondary income from it.
