  1. Anyone who is past their prime and are coming to SL instead of retiring
  2. This just shows the difference between the NRL and RFL. The NRL accept new clubs 2 - 3 years in advance and make sure due diligence is done with any new applicants, ensuring they have time to build a competitive squad and have player pathways in place. They also give them equal funding so they are on an even playing field. The RFL/SL just say we might increase to 14 clubs but we won’t decide until 6 months before the season starts and they won’t get any money. Basically the due diligence is the new clubs saying they won’t accept any funding
  3. If Wakefield are committed to youth development then I’m happy with that as long as they aren’t kept out of the team by players who aren’t any better. My main concern about the quota is that some clubs might neglect to bring players through as they can just fill up with second string quota players.
  4. The issue I’ve got is that increasing the quota might come at the expense of some of those players mentioned and they are coming over because they can’t get a run in the NRL
  5. And another https://www.loverugbyleague.com/post/penrith-panthers-zac-lipowicz-transfer-catalans-dragons
  6. Where did I say behemoth? I’m happy to have a discussion but only if we discuss what I actually said
  7. https://www.loverugbyleague.com/post/wakefield-trinity-land-next-overseas-signing-as-queensland-cup-star-agrees-deal Another second grader signs for next season
  8. They might as well not bother then. Try once and then just give up
  9. I was referring to them being in SL and competitive. They could continue to do the same as they’re doing now but it would be an easier sell playing against Saints, Warrington, Wigan, Leeds etc
  10. I was thinking that about Widnes. They could push for fans in Widnes and Runcorn which would give them a good chance at picking up decent crowds
  11. Looking forward to Presley Cassell making his debut. Heard good things about him
  12. That’s where Oldham might have an advantage
  13. Yeah football dominates everything but I think a successful Oldham and Widnes in particular could definitely get a good following. Oldham is big enough on its own before looking at places like Manchester for fans. Widnes is a lot smaller but probably has a lot of lapsed fans they could tap into as well as gaining some from other parts of Merseyside if they became a strong SL club
  14. I don’t think they’re need to change their name but they could definitely look to expand their fan base in these areas
  15. Hull also have Litten, Moy and Charles
