  1. 0:37:30 (Perez on Wolfpack haters) "if you go on those forums, there's only 4 or 5 people who are the consistent haters. They sound like such losers." He's definitely been on this forum.

  2. Good podcast, enjoyed it. It's fun and informal, and the hosts are passionate. But good lord, there were times I was wishing them to shut the hell up and let Mr Perez speak! They kept going off topic just when the chat was getting interesting. So many juicy missed opportunities (that's what she said). Perez though - cool as ####. What a hero. Not enough recognition is given for what he's achieved. Having a crazy dream... "a Super League team in Canada? Get outta town!" But against all the odds, he made it happen. What an inspiration. He makes rugby league sound like the

  3. Hi Bob hope you enjoyed the pint mate Story with the glasses. It's a change over period where before the boxing day clash we had 800 single use glasses left, would be silly simply not use them, the single use glasses will be phased out thru the bottle bars, the glasses pictured will be available in the southstand bar where a £1 deposit will be taken with the pint, you return it you'll be reimbursed your £1,if you want to take it home or reuse it for further drinks that choice is yours, it works fine at Batley and no reason it shouldn't work at the Rams, it's a great idea that will p

  5. I don't think they did a bad job, tbh. The army of wide eyed kids who watched the original film in 1977 couldn't go online on forums and twitter and whatnot to pull the plot to bits within minutes of the closing credits, so it left a joyous unsullied mark on many memories that could never truly be repeated or surpassed. I remember watching it in the Bradford Odeon, aged 11, and before the film started, the lights went out and a glitterball descended from the roof to project a 'starscape' all around the auditorium. I thought that was amazing at the time. Moviegoers in 2019 are a

  10. I think you're being mean spirited. If I were to die suddenly and my wife were to raise money using my name, I would be delighted if she had half the success that Lizzie has had. Inevitably when you're raising money for charity it's a great help if you can raise your own profile. Having met Lizzie several times I can't speak highly enough of her.

  14. The only things that are rubbish on here are the people who can't support their opinion so instead lamely dismiss anything they disagree with as "rubbish" or "garbage". Obviously I was joking before, but honestly what would you know about the NSW Cup!? You have no access to it, you've probably never watched a NSW Cup game or if you have it wasn't recently, so how could you possibly think that you are in a position to judge the standard of the NSW Cup? Now that I'm looking at each comps ladders and thinking about it a bit, honestly, at least the top 7 teams of the NSW Cup could

  16. My view for what it's worth £18 mistake Should have been £15 For every person who comes through the turnstile without the correct money your going to give them 2 pound coins change, more people will rock up with a £20 note than people with the correct money.. A fact Unless you issue turnstiles with large amounts of pound coins this was going to fail... And did dramatically. Etickets Batley's system not ours and why it was imposed on us for this game I don't know, a Batley member of staff should have manned a turnstile just for Etickets and then any problem

  19. Yep. Also the point of is that oppo doesnt really matter England is effectively a largely untapped and massive market for us. Any competitive and exciting international games for us will help English RL's appeal. The comparatively tiny increase from the Tongan side (due to the population) could be dwarfed by increasing purely English interest

  30. Lunch with my son at Black Axe Mangle in Islington. Beer across the road. Then tube up to Wood Green. Nine times out of ten I’ll hop over to McDonalds for a wee. 10 min walk to New River. We normally get there for kick off. Beer in the club house at half time. Don’t normally hang around after the match. Half hour bus ride home.

  33. Home games: wake up hungover (usually), head down to Soccer Sensations, struggle through my first beer around 12:30, have 3 or 4 more, walk to the east stand, get a beer, go to the usual spot, sing Red, Red Robin, watch Rovers go behind early, grab another beer, watch Rovers lose, have another beer in clubhouse, get a taxi to a pub, slag Rovers off ad nauseam, wake up the next day with a vague recollection of the events that led to the existing hang over. Repeat the week after. Away games: wake up with a hangover, get beer in the cool bag, get on coach, spend a couple of quid on the raff

  41. I'm amazed (and disappointed) that we haven't got a ''how to'' guide for development officers, or amateur enthusiasts who want to spread the game. We have now (I believe) some very good examples of best practise in Hemel Hempstead and Newcastle of how to do it but we haven't created the guide. We should document their methods, which could save people in new areas years of trial and error (and a heap of wasted money). I just don't understand why, when we are all worried about the games decline, we just hope that amateurs in new areas will persevere (in error) for years and years, whil

  42. It’s a step up and sink or swim time for him at Canberra next year. He’ll either progress as a player and be playing for England in the next World Cup, or be back in Super League. Fair play to him for having a crack at it, the easy option would have been to stay at Wigan.

  43. Not blowing my own trumpet but I travel from London to watch games and honestly don’t have much of a problem considering. Anyone from the local area (other than those with mobility issues) complaining that the location is a barrier to attending games are just using it as an excuse not to attend for other reasons. Yes transport links could be better but they are not the main reason for the low crowds - decades of poor performance are. Lets see what a bit of success and a more optimistic outlook, coupled with better marketing (within budget), can do.
