Time to move the Grand Final (Merged Threads)

You'd've thought they'd've coped better with rain in Manchester. Or, indeed, anywhere in Lancashire. -
Have you thought about watching more Championship games?

The train's always an option. No ..... wait ........

Common sense. What would be the point in rushing around? Stand about. Catch your breath.
-
Seriously, once you stop the game clock for penalties and scrums, the urgency drifts out of the players and you just end up with more standing around than you had before.

There's a big difference between "onside" and "ready to receive the ball". "Onside" is ten metres from goal. "Ready to receive the ball" might be on the halfway line. The shot clock has ameliorated the problem of time wasting, as has the last-five-minutes protocol.

I agree that scam is probably over the top but the fact is that the lessening of debts could probably have been achieved by just liquidating the company at a much earlier stage. Sad as it is, if it fails for the want of a relatively modest £10k, draw your own conclusions. -
Me too.

Greatest Players to Never Play at Wembley
Griff replied to Mumby Magic's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
We decided shoehorning in a dozen midweek games a season wasn't a great idea. -
I'm not sure where we are commercially with Women's RL. Obviously it's something to be encouraged and some clubs are paying their players, though, no doubt at a lower level than the men's team. Playing simple, single price double headers isn't going to drag in revenue and playing a double header with two tickets required looks like it's a loser too. Maybe the best plan would be to play home women's games on weekends when the men's team are away, maybe not on the same day. That would keep the revenue coming in. Having said that, it seems to me that, currently, the women's game is very much like the men's game. A few good teams at the top, a lot of poor one underneath - only far more polarised. I don't know how much demand there is from spectators for the women's game or what the costs of staging the games might be. I wouldn't deny that it has a future or claim that it's a waste of time but we're certainly a long way from where we want to be.

Well, yes. If there's no tackle, it's not a voluntary tackle. The clue is in the word "tackle". Why is the stand off awkward? What's upset him?

You do know the "retain and transfer" system ended thirty years ago, don't you? -

Is this a new plan to grow the game by reducing the number of players in a team to twelve and playing dressed as monks?
