  1. Absolutely agree 100 percent, both need plenty of game time to maintain the improvement shown so far, I would also apply the same to JJ.
  2. Very frustrating, gave them tries on a plate , old head at half back was the difference for me, Bickerdyke was solid at FB ( one error which lead to a try) but we missed Burns. Much better performance than last week.
  3. This will be a tough one, Oldhams squad is very experienced and maybe too much for us to cope with, think that their half backs will dominate our young un’s. looking for a good performance and I am certain there will be no lack of effort and enthusiasm. ️. UTT
  4. Totally agree Peter with what you say, Jenkinson has no interest in sport in this area or the original stadium plans would have been delivered on time and we would have had the opportunity to see World Cup RL played on our doorstep, instead if we are lucky, the Reds get a new stand and Town have to play on a postage stamp sized pitch, totally unacceptable in my opinion, the man has a lot to answer for and personally I wouldn’t vote for him if I had a hundred votes.
  5. Anyone else having trouble with the commentary on RC
  6. He was playing for Orrell St James at the start of the season, not sure if he still is.
  7. Any win away is a good win, our inexperienced side will benefit from the test. ️ UTT
  8. Won’t be easy to win this one, they are very capable on their own ground and have brought 4 or 5 players in on Duel Reg. Big effort required. ️ UTT.
  9. Yes very sad news, Kyle was as hard as nails, when he tackled, the opponent certainly knew it. RIP condolences to his family.️
  10. 4 subs allowed, 5th (18th man) can be utilised if a team loses 3 players to HIA. That is in NRL, SL & Championship, not sure if it applies in L1.

    Dewsbury

I didn’t say the ref cost us the match, I said he was inconsistent and made some crucial errors, if he is local it is often a difficult situation as he can’t be seen to favour the home team but I do feel that Dewsbury benefited from most 50-50 calls.

    Dewsbury

Thought we where exposed easily by Dewsbury quick PTB and big forwards running good angles, we where very pedestrian until the two big props came on and we gained a lot of momentum, when they where taken off we lost our way again. No general to guide us round the field and I am not one to knock referees but that chap today was very poor, two crucial decisions given totally wrong, his assessment of high tackles was inconsistent to say the least. Still onwards and upwards nothing is decided at this early stage of the season but on today’s show it is going to be hard to make an impression on the top three.

    Fixtures

Now that would make too much sense, and I don’t think the RFL have any. Unless neither ground was available.
  14. Very happy to get the season off with a win away from home, well done Town enjoy the trip home. ️
  15. At the end of the day BP, as is now, is just too small and too close to the main road to develop properly.
  16. Like you mate I have been a Townie for best part of 60 years, it too will break my heart to leave DP, I have stood down there with my late father, my brother, friends and even my wife, so yes it will be hard to leave. but as a club we have to move on, nothing lasts forever . Having said that we need assurances that the revamped BP will be suitable for RL, I don’t feel very optimistic about it all, it is all being driven by a Football bias and mainly for the benefit of Football and RL is just a secondary consideration. I have seen nothing on the website or heard in Dave Bowdens interview to give me any confidence at all, and all we need now is for Jenky to get involved to really botch it all up. ️UTT
  17. If it is the same foot print then BP is too small for RL.
  18. Good run out for Town today against a very youthful Bradford side, Burns at fullback stood out and could be a useful signing along with Subutey and Hurst, Caine Barnes used more effectively as well. I was quite impressed with Bradfords 1,6 & 7.
  19. I have been saying right from the start, this whole scheme will only benefit the Reds, BP is not only hopeless but also dangerous for Rugby as people have alluded to in previous posts on here, Town sold down the river to get the Reds a roof on the stand. DP is by far a much better option, but I know there are problems to overcome to make that happen, but spend the money redeveloping DP and use the pitch area of BP as training facilities.
  20. Looking forward to getting back down for a match, I know it is a Bradford select but never the less it back to Rugby. ️
  21. I have said it before and will say again, this whole situation is just a manipulation to get the Reds a new stand, this is not a stadium build but a up grade for Borough Park. Can’t see Town getting much out of it, not even a full size pitch as we now have at DP.
  22. Merry Christmas to all Rugby League fans, players,Referees, volunteers and administrators around the world best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2023. ️ Up the Town.
  23. Didn’t see this one coming, welcome back Jason.
