Yes…no reason to buy so far ahead of the season…..xmas shopping on the horizon ( well black Friday anyway) and winter bills coming up. Its not like you will miss out if you wait until February to purchase. The way league one has been run recently you dont know for sure how many teams will make the starting line or how many home games there will be until close to the start of the season. Also there doesnt appear to be the possibility of spreading the cost over several monthly payments. In this day and age I would think that would be an important sales strategy. I dont expect the statement will do much for increasing pre Xmas sales.

Feeling in your limbs….are you from darn sarth. If you were from Rochdale you were lucky to escape sheddings with your limbs, never mind feelings. -

$57 for a t shirt…blimey. Mind you it is London - on the basis of how many pints does it work out at then its probably a bargain. -

Selwyn Cobbo wants to test the market! I expect broncos will break the bank to keep him as the did with Walsh. Theres going to be. hell of a lot of the salary cap eaten up by the show ponies. Wont leave much for Ben Hunt. -
Yes the NSW fans wanted a challenge and Q couldnt provide one. Do you know what living in Brisbane was like in the 1980s? Anything that got you out of the house after 5pm that didnt involve illegal activity was popular ( not necessarily more popular than the illegal activity though! Watching the traffic lights change was popular. The final days of the JBP dictatorship. The south bank cultural precinct was built in 1988 to coincide with the World Fair…coincidentally the year The JBP dictatorship ended.

Not at all. Queenslanders were tired of seeing their local lads getting hammered by exiled Queensland star players. It was no contest so had little attraction to fans in both states. Essentially it was a game between a team funded by pokie revenues against a team with no pokie revenues. Once Q had access to all their players it became a competition worth watching and has remained so ever since. Yes marketing helps but even the best marketing managers cannot polish a ######.

Precisely, origin was created to provide a more meaningful, competitive series and the game, players fans and TV companies bought into it. But it was a different game to the interstate series. We have already tried origin style war of the roses…several times. It hasnt had the same result sadly.

Where does he get “origin in the 1980s was a couple of thousand at Sydney” from? The lowest attendance at a Sydney orign game in the 1980s was 16910 in 1988 for a dead rubber game. Its the only time there has been less than 20000 at a sydney origin.

Who is Taylor Swift and who does he play for. I am assuming with a name like that he must be a winger.

I am exhausted just watching it. Great credit to both sides…and the crowd. I was worried about being able to sleep after that but no problem…Ill switch channels to watch the game at “HQ”. Nod off in no time.

Reece Walsh extended at Broncos until end of ‘29….on $24k per week. $200 of that is contributed by my 2025 membership! Just enough room in the salary cap to make a pitch for Addo Carr -
I like that philosophy! The last time we reached the semi finals….67 years ago…we beat the best team away…but we werent the worst team left.

Siva Tau ( Haka and other versions) time to ban them?

But their most successful sporting code currently dont…..the cricketers. -
We can agree on that.

You dont think progressing to the QF of the cup…or further benefits a club outside super league? I think it will attract folks who havent been to the club for a while, create a buzz in the town, increase their chances of being on TV and a bigger attendence than being shafted by a super league club in the early rounds.
-
Who said anything about money spinner? You seem to have drunk the IMG coolaid. Its about having a chance to progress to the later stages in a knock out comp. The changes reduce the chances of non SL teams progressing. Even under the current badly flawed system York made the QFs two years ago precisely because they avoided drawing a SL club in the last 16. The current system is designed to reduce the chances of that happening again.

2025 Season Tickets/Memberships
Anita Bath replied to Wollo Wollo Wayoo's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
At that rate they wont need to win a game to get an A grade with IMG. -
yes, yes, yes. But our clubs voted for it. But then millions of yanks will be voting for Trump next week. Who said democracy was a good thing?

Josh Addo-Carr roadside test
Anita Bath replied to Graham's topic in The Australian Rugby League Forum
He would fit in well as part of the Donaghy circus at Red Hill. Among friends who failed roadside drug tests or similar misdemeanours. -
Yes…Super league clubs protected from facing each other in an open draw to make sure lower teams dont progress through the luck of the draw. More manufacturing the outcome for IMGs favoured 12.

What I dont understand is why it was supported so overwhelmingly by the clubs outside of SL. While the fans can see what the agenda is the owners voted for it like turkeys voting for Xmas. We have seen the same thing with the Challenge Cup…a once great competition subjected to continuous changes all aimed at ensuring easier routes to the final for SL teams. RFL wont be satisfied until the competition looks like NRL…a closed shop in SL and separate lower tier competitions aimed entirely at supporting SL clubs. We had better get used to it.
