Money problems at Featherstone?
Chris Taylor replied to Old Frightful's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Looking forward to seeing how the club responds to this. Since the last time there has been a change in ownership, however management has stayed consistent. It will be interesting to see how this has happened. It felt the club were making strides forwards from the previous ownership - but it seems something is going array. -

No bother, Michael. I think something else to consider is we've had a much better pre-season, friendlies, and a good start against Doncaster, so expectations were much higher than anticipated and we all feel a bit meh after that. Looking forward to seeing the response from the players this weekend, I think they'll be wanting to turn Keighley over quite nicely.

Wakefield Trinity plans submision
Chris Taylor replied to Forever Trinity's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Kudos to Matt Ellis, he's really putting Wakefield into a new era and making it an attractive proposition. Exactly what the games needs. -
Of the 21k followers work out; How many are Rovers fans Fans of other clubs Spam bots Active/Inactive I reckon you'd then go down to an estimate of 500 active followers that are our fans (pure guess). The problem you have nowadays online if you are trying to build a brand is there's too many communication channels and you actually need a focus point. Market research is needed to understand where our brand is actually positioned. For example we are giving away 6k free kids seasons, why? Where are they being distributed there? Where are fans actually based. I reckon they would get more visibility on TikTok of old videos of Brendan Tuuta smashing an opposition player. A proper marketing + digital strategy is required - however I believe there is a new director who knows this.

Super League Trading Cards
Chris Taylor replied to Gomersall's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
They aren't - there is a huge market out there for collectible cards. Particularly a signed limited edition card. There's a series on Netflix called the King of Collectibles, I would highly recommend you watch this as it opens your eyes. -
Super League Trading Cards
Chris Taylor replied to Gomersall's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
This great that they are doing this, there is a serious market for collecting trading cards of all natures. Shame it's not with either Topps or Pannini as that would have given the cards more substance in terms of value. Example, a Luke Little signed 1/1 card was on eBay for £15k last week. -
Banter thread with deluded Bulls fan
Chris Taylor replied to jamescolin's topic in Featherstone Rovers
Start a new topic if you want to discuss the finances, this thread is specifically for the new Fans Group. -
Perhaps Minikin is still undecided if he wants to continue or not.

I appreciate you wanted to keep something topical for a poll on Garry, and he would be classed as a marmite columnist - you either love or hate him. However, I feel that the poll is in really bad taste and surely there would have been a different angle to go down that was more positive about his writing capabilities.

It's not the greatest in terms of communication, as a solution drop Martin Vickers an email and approach him with a view to volunteering and publishing content / general website maintenance.

Oldham..,
Chris Taylor replied to The Art of Hand and Foot's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
We had that, it was called Super League and Championship. Having SL1 & SL2 would change nothing. -
Players you would sign
Chris Taylor replied to Featherstonerovers2000's topic in Featherstone Rovers
Absolutely, however I'm looking forward to understanding who that user specifically wants to sign. -

Who and what positions? -
I understand that a lot of these people are volunteers, however it's a communication platform that is visible to the world and can be used in so many different ways. It shouldn't be used as an excuse. No club, professional or amateur should be stating that the referee made the wrong decision. If there isn't already there should be minimum guidelines in place for what not to say and perhaps actually what seemingly does well too.
-
I don't disagee about raising an opinion - it's creates that emotional connect with the fans. However, when these tweets seemingly criticise referees then this needs to be stopped. This isn't just Halifax btw, I'm sure you can select a number of clubs in the lower leagues that do this. It's simply not professional.

I don't think these comments are particularly helpful on social media, it perhaps would help encourage further abuse towards the match officials.
