Did he try out his coffin in advance? Always partial to diving in the box. -
Not many Bulls fans will forgive him for his time at Odsal. Took the captaincy off Iestyn Harris and thought Paul Sykes was a better bet at centre than Shontayne Hape. However, it must have been a learning experience because he's done really well with the Catalans. McNamara didn't trust flair at Odsal and I think he's still a bit the same at Catalans. They made hard work of winning last night when I thought they were the more talented team. The Catalans were saved by a bit of flair from Sam Tomkins in the last minute ... a blast from the past, and irrespective of which team he plays for, a reminder of how good he used to be. Before that, they had no offload game and never tried to provide their outstanding wingers with open space to run at. Am I glad that the Catalans won? Yes, of course I am. Would I be glad to have McNamara back at the Bulls at some time in the Future? No no no no no no no bloody thanks!

Peter Fox turned the Northern round when he signed a shedload of top players. He got Johnny Wolford, Derrick Parker and Jack Austin from Bramley. All quality players. Still my favourite era. Jack Austin was a strong running and no-nonsense winger. He always played against Leeds as though he really hated them ... obviously, that sort of behaviour didn't go down at all well with the Northern faithful. He was once interviewed in midweek on Radio Leeds. His expected school-of-hard-knocks voice never appeared ... he sounded like a senior civil servant. Derrick Parker was powerfully built ... a strong running and good tackling centre. After a few really good years, he seemed to disappear from the sport. He was once out injured for about three or four weeks. He came back with a beard like Captain Haddock in Tintin. Johnny was a worldbeater (not kidding) at stand off. Always looked overweight, not a speed merchant but he mesmerised opposition defences with dummies, sidesteps and offloads. He walked through defences and usually gave a pass before he got clobbered. He often walked off the Odsal mudbath with a pretty clean shirt. He was picked on the bench in the Yorkshire Cup Final against York because he'd spent all week welding on an oil rig. Came on at halftime and turned the game round. I hope he's still about.

The Broncos lost the game but Lee Briers was a winner with his attacking system. In the end, the Broncos were dead on their feet. It cost them the game, a reminder of the time when RL didn't have multi-substitutions. Tired Rugby was a vital factor in the game pre-Superleague. We can't go back to playing on heavy pitches in winter but we can go back to limited substitutions. Bring back the rule that, once you are subbed, you are off for the game..

Channel 4 is dipping its toe into Rugby League. Maybe, if no other British major channel wants to show the Aussie Grand Final, they could cut a deal with Sky to show it.

Back to having the spirit of Bradford in the ground. Standing close together with people who may not live in the city and who you don't know personally but we share a love of Bradford and a love of the Bulls. Our town and our team. Love of Bradford is why Bradford City get so many fans. City's results don't really justify their atendances; the community spirit that the club has fostered does. The bars on North Parade are buzzing before and after games; ideally, I'd like to see the same in Wibsey for Bulls fans.

I would expect the RFL to consider that Odsal is unsuitable for Superleague. In such case, we'd have to play at Valley Parade, Keighley or Halifax. I'd prefer Halifax (they still need their stand completing), then Keighley (they could do with the money and we are needlessly antagonistic to each other). I think the RFL would want Valley Parade, because it would look better on the telly. I'm not bothered whether we get to Superleague this season or not. We are a semi-pro team and would need to sign full-time players. I've seen enough journeymen to last me a lifetime. If we signed a bunch of journeymen, they'd be half-expecting relegation. We have a history of not utilising or capitalising on our fantastic academy players. I'd prefer another 2 years in the Championship, developing Superleague-standard young guns.

No Leeds players selected. Best new rule we've had in years. Other than that, in my opinion: Tom Davies and Tommy Makinson have been better than Josh Charnley Jai Field has been better than Jack Welsby Daryl Clark has been better than Edwin Ipape Jonny Lomax should have been in there There's no proper goalkicker in there
