  1. The article doesn't clarify that 4 teams have already got their places - Australia, England, France and Wales are already qualified as they were all semifinalists in 2022. Also Wales Wheelchair RL are currently 3rd in the world rankings..they moved above Australia as they played (and won) in USA last year. EDIT: I'm told the new world rankings place Wales Wheelchair team in 5th place. Apologies for old information!
  2. I was just thinking of this thread today and how France have missed out on a huge opportunity by not hosting the World Cup. Recently France have hosted the RU World Cup, and are now at the start of the Olympic Games. The announcement has been made today that France will host the Winter Olympic Games...so such a shame the Rugby League World Cup fell through, but perhaps shows where Rugby League features on the sporting radar in France. Also announced today is that France will hose the European rounds of the RLWC qualifiers in October 2024....so Serbia will play Wales and France will play Ukraine in Carcassonne on 22nd October and the two winners will play in Perpignan on 26th October for the one place available to go into the World Series on 2025 to select the final two places to join the 8 2022 quaterfinalists to make up the 10 RLWC places for 2026... I've booked my flights for Carcassonne this morning! https://europeanrugbyleague.com/articles/2429/mens-european-world-cup-qualifying-detai...
  3. Lloyd Roby from Widnes to North Wales Crusaders
  4. NO Crusaders game this weekend so hopefully any injured players can have a bit of recovery. Wins for Hunslet, Keighley Cougars, Cornwall (in a close game) and Oldham.
  5. If anyone is planning to go, don't miss out on a game in Papua New Guinea! I went as an independent travelling supporter to watch PNG vs Wales in 2017 and was so glad I made the effort.
  6. I think you're being very generous to the Cru!! Second half we were awful. Lost the plot and Hunslet, quite rightly, capitalised on our poor performance. I hope we never play that poorly again, particularly as we have to play Hunslet again at their place! We wont get into the playoffs on that display.
  7. Coming to terms with a comprehensive loss yesterday. I though Crusaders looked the better team for the first 20 minutes but we just couldn't score. Once Oldham got on the board they never looked like losing. Oldham are a very strong team for League 1 and would probably hold their own in the Championship. Well done to the Yeds on the win.... and I think they'll take the top spot to go up automatically. To add to our woes Workington won their game so 6th place is now a battle to hold onto, with a real tough run in. After we play Hunslet on 21st July at Eirias Park we have 4 consecutive away games in August at Workington, Keighley, Hunslet and Rochdale with a final home game against Cornwall on 1st September. We'll need to battle like we did last season to even get into the top 6 and perhaps other results may be our nemesis.
  8. All Away wins (...he said hopefully!!) Crusaders came within a whisker of beating Oldham at Eirias Park, we'll need our very best defence at Boundary Park to cause an upset. We CAN do it.
  9. Players - fed up of playing on ###### pitches? simply glue some rectangles of 4G surface to your boots before trotting out for the game
  10. Does this only apply to Leigh Leopards players?
  11. Well played Hurricanes; the better team won and although I thought our cards were very harsh and Hurricanes got away with a cheap shot on Carl Forster, I don't think the officials lost us the game. Hurricanes came with a good game plan and executed it well. Nice to meet you at Eirias Park. Good luck for the rest of the season
  12. I think I'll recognise you. I'm sure you were at the Alexandra Stadium and presented the ball for the game.
  13. Workington and Cougars to win confortably. North Wales Crusaders v Midlands Hurricanes will be be a close fought encounter. Midlands were the better team at the last fixture, preceded by a spectacular thunderstorm; lets hope we have fine weather and all the fireworks are on the pitch. Crusaders to edge it by a try.
  14. Are you coming to Colwyn Bay Tim? Lets catch up with a pint
  15. We still have another game against Cornwall - lets hope for a Crusaders win in Eirias Park on the last game of the season. Why not come up ans see us!
  16. Just got back from Cornwall - forgot to factor in the Glastonbury traffic on the M5 which was at a standstill for parts of the journey...a journey which took almost 9 hours!!. 693 miles to watch North Wales Crusaders! Was it worth it...damn right! 2 points in the bag, 3 wins on the bounce, we had some great weather, lovely food and a mini-holiday with some rugby league thrown in for good measure!
  17. Wins for Hurricanes, Oldham and Cougars. I'm already in Cornwall ready for the game. Hopefully we'll get the same sunshine we had today and we'll come away with another decent win to add to the winning streak we're on. Take nothing for granted though; the Choughs have turned us over before! Looking forward to a few beers and a pasty!
  18. Llongyfarchiadau to Wales Women, joining Wales Wheelchair RL in the Rugby League World Cup 2026...somewhere in the southern hemisphere (allegedly!)
  19. You got the Crusaders willing margin spot on! Well done....now do the next two games for us!!
  20. I went to the bookies but it was full of Torys voting on the election date!
  21. Toulouse Olympique, Bradford Bulls, Featherstone Rovers, Sheffield Eagles, Widnes Vikings, Wakefield Trinity, Whitehaven
  22. Convincing wins for Cougars and Oldham. Hunslet will squeeze past Hornets with home advantage. I'm hoping our win at home last weekend has generated some confidence and we get a good win at Newcastle Thunder. I want us to play with skill and discipline, defend well and cut out the errors and penalties.
  23. Just home from Eirias Park....and my heart rate is just about back to normal again. A pulsating game between two sides determined to overturn the ball once they'd scored! Crusaders threw a massive interception to Workington for them to go six points clear, then a further try to go 10 points behind, but Crusaders showed great character to win the game with grit and determination, despite Workington constantly trying to slow the play of the balls down. For me we desrved the win...but only just!
