  1. Maybe it could work underneath SL. A 14 team SL then the remaining 23 divided into 3 conferences, could do with one more for 24, then would be 3 x 8. Could even have a French conference as well
  2. Will be a competitive series against the Kiwis they look good at the moment. Hopefully France get a mid season game in against Wales and play England or NZ before the test series starts. Would have liked some of the PI nations to have come also
  3. I was thinking the same thing. Is it community players against French academy players or like for like?
  4. Those 4 plus Mikey Lewis at Hull KR, Nicholson and Thewlis at Warrington, Connor Lynn at Hull, possibly Bailey Hodgson if he overcomes his injuries. What's going on with Hanley at Wigan?
  5. I agree. I noticed him the other week and he looked really good
  6. I can't argue too much with that but Newman really impresses me too.
  7. Who do you think is the most promising/exciting young player at the moment? I'm talking about players who will potentially play for England. For me it's from the following players Welsby/Dodd - Saints Pearce Paul - Wigan Newman - Leeds Qareqare - Castleford Wardle/Wrench - Warrington Pryce - Huddersfield Farnworth - Brisbane Young - Newcastle Rushton - Canberra. From that list I'd say it's between Welsby and Newman although they're all exciting players with big futures in the game
  8. I'd like to see SL clubs doing more of this kind of stuff alongside development in their own areas. If clubs partnered with a few community clubs in expansion areas they could help them develop the game in that area.
  9. Obviously I haven't seen Australia play for a while but I thought New Zealand looked really good against Tonga the other week and could be the team to win the WC
  10. That's a strong 17. I'm undecided on Welsby at FB with Williams at 7 or what you have suggested. I'd also consider starting with Thompson. I'd definitely have Young in the team but think he's sticking with Jamaica isn't he?
  11. I'm ok with players who have English parent(s) especially if they are potentially sacrificing future Origin and Australian selection as it shows they are genuine
  12. All I said was that I'm happy with players who have English parents opting for England but not grandparents or residency.
  13. If you're quoting me I didn't actually say that
  14. I agree on players like Hastings and Austen as I think bringing in Aussies on residency rules just because they aren't anywhere near Kangaroo selection devalues the England shirt. I also don't think we should be bringing players in on the grandparent rule. We're tier 1 so shouldn't need to. However, I don't have a problem with someone who has an English parent. I think if I moved away and my child was born abroad I'd still see them as English or at least half English
  15. I think a pins in map Europe wide competition for amateur or non existent clubs is a bit of a stretch. The best way for Europe would be a Balkan SL format. Regionalised multi nation competitions for any ambitious clubs with domestic leagues underpinning these in the individual countries
  16. Completely agree. If one parent is English then I've no problem with him being picked for England. However, where do we play him?
  17. This is a great initiative by Hull and will hopefully reap benefits for both them and Nigerian RL
  18. Best game I've watched in a long time. Lots of aggression, fast paced, skillful and high intensity. What's not to like?
  19. It's not right. We can all do a better job than Bennett, Wane, McNamara etc and we're all better players than Gildart, Percival, Widdop, Lomax etc
  20. Was it the Magic Weekends that got you interested in RL?
