  1. It’s in Yards rather than Metres. I think it made 25sqm less space.
  2. Pretty sure the hands/arm waiving are coached. One team I’ve watched this year immediately adopted this from the kick off. Just ordinary tackles trigger the arm waiving.
  3. This is where it’s confusing. Thaler continually lectured Bradford and Widnes players about their actions being dangerous (about 5/6 head highs) and gave penalties. Other Refs in SL gave penalties as well as issuing cards. No players from the Bradford v Widnes game charged. Seems clear to me that the RFL officials are dealing with the same issue differently!
  4. That would hike the costs, insurances and also might not be 100% possible to achieve due to Pole, Uni attendance requirements. I think what Barney is saying is a good. By using a system comparable with our Scholarships. Both the amateur and pro game would win.
  5. Yeah, I already made my admission over him being available for the WCC. Double standards from me and the RFL Not often we get a Ref bowled over though. Houston’s was the only one I could recall and he did get 2 matches.
  6. I would imagine they used an incident from the Widnes v ?? game where Houston ran into Phil Bentham?? Houston got 2 games.
  7. Indeed. But that’s why I would like to see the side on view as the appeal stated the Referee was slowing down. Just want a clearer view.
  8. The game really shouldn’t just be about the officials though. It should be about players and fans. This is not to say that we don’t value or need officials (or campaigns/rule changes to eradicate brain injuries) but it seems as if we are trying for instant, 100% compliance, which will be impossible.
  9. The only clip I’ve seen is from twitter. I don’t know the exact minute as I would like to see it also.
  10. The full game is on YouTube Harry. I am not sure of the exact minute it happened.
  11. From what I can see Clubs have been consulted but at different levels. So many players wouldn’t be up in arms about this otherwise and wouldn’t be getting punished with bans and fines. The galling thing for me is that if the Laws had been officiated correctly, over the years, then much of this would be already addressed. Instead we had the half hearted attempts of a few years ago where clubs complained of the officiating and the rfl eased off. To add to that, players wouldn’t have been practicing hitting ball carriers high, holding them up and then wrestling them to the floor before more wrestle. Cultures like this can’t be changed quickly, yet just this week an accidental clash between a player and a referee has been punished with a fine and a ban. Just seems that some punishment is being meted out without considering enough human factors.
  12. The Hull FC/HKR amalgamation has finished and they are both ‘sole’ Competition at this level would be excellent.
  13. Canadian team in the masters comp. https://www.sasktoday.ca/national-sports/canada-selects-look-to-help-showcase-rugby-league-as-australias-nrl-visits-sin-city-8369540
  14. Looks that way as well. Called ‘Miloudi’ syndrome.
  15. For some years, clubs used to use the golf club hotel (mas d’houston) at st.cyprien plage. Arrived a day early, left the day after the match or some players ventured down to Barcelona to make their own way back. I watched this for years, so no one can tell me English clubs couldn’t afford it. Then we had the odd team flying in and out on the same day, which triggered more clubs doing it. This then triggered the ‘we can’t afford it’ bleats. Catalans have been flying across for years, sometimes staying for a second game. I don’t recall them asking for a handout.
  16. It’s the opposite for me. Seeing as it is a genuine contest for points there will be nothing held back and all clubs will be putting in. I prefer to believe this (and the next 4 years afterwards) can be a fantastic opportunity for expansion roots. I expect RU to try and piggyback/undermine it but imo the yanks will see through that once the comparisons are made after the event.
  17. That’s how it should be. Both CD and the clubs then win all round but…, it could be that Guasch insists they must win everything. Got to say though, they seem a rabble at times.
  18. The pink Floyd ‘Wish you were here acoustics’ stayed with me. I never liked their other songs but that one never seems to have left me.
  19. TBH, I watched the game on catch up but did fast forward maybe 10 minutes worth. It seems 2 got binned but might not have been for head high infringements Lee. Thaler blew for head highs and gave lectures but no cards for the 5/6 I can remember. Confused me as some officials are the opposite.
  20. Regarding the map, it shows how much interest and input our three representatives have.
  21. Interested to see if any players from the Bradford/Widnes game get punished for head highs.
  22. If Wardles pass to Marshall had been better(, in the 2nd half,) a try would have killed the Panthers off altogether. I thought that missed chance would be Wigans undoing but luckily it wasn’t.
