Neither country knows RL exists but Lebanon is 1/11th the population.

Are we still bringing up this type of garbage? Of all the countries to try to rubbish for fielding heritage players you pick possibly the most successful to have done it? Rugby League in Lebanon is probably as well known amongst the public as it is in England.

2017 was the peak of the international game. After the successful 2013 WC it really felt like things were building. We had the Emerging Nations World Championship planned and then held in 2018 but by then things were starting to come apart. New nations were kicking off all over the globe. It was very exciting. The 2017 WC was financially weak but probably had some of the best results ever with Tonga's dream run and Fiji beating NZ. This was the year after Scotland tied NZ in the Four Nations. There was a sense that there could be a top 8 or so teams that could really be competitive. As unimaginable as it may seem, Nigel Wood oversaw the best time for the international game. Although I believe it was through no real input from himself. A combination of COVID, poor finance from the 2017 WC and a new-look, bloated IRL essentially killed off the momentum.

It's 12 teams and called Top 13. Not sure it's a good idea with the union comp being the Top 14. Good old rugby league.

I will say Leigh have probably used up every last drop of their potential. While what they have done is admirable it's hard not to think it's a bit of a waste.

The point is though, who wants to watch the best teams on the field when your stadium is falling to bits, your online footprint looks like it's run by 10 year olds and and you're in a dead town? Then it's compounded by your sponsors going to other well-run sports.

Unfortunately the English seem to still believe in an antiquated view of sports so needed it spelled out for them. The results on the field are just one aspect of a team and the game day experience. You can't just let basically every other facet deteriorate.

I'd say on the whole most NRL logos don't need changing. A lot of those are better than the English/French clubs though as well as the Qld/NSW Cup.

Have to say: why? The English game seems to go from one low to the next. Add in their apathy towards outsiders that verges on disdain. I'd steer clear.
