  1. Seems to have massively stalled after moving to KR though in his progress. We do have Pratt though who looks a real gem of a centre.
  2. I suspect the seats have been put in to maintain the required seating number for img should they start the demolition of the current seating stand for the new one which would take probably 18 months. perhaps this is more to ensure they don’t lose points rather than gain them.
  3. Not at all. Few early silly kicks putting York on trinity line but the trinity defence too strong and dealt with York comfortably. York were in a better position but not by far the better team at all. Trinity have been all over York who have been run ragged for 30 minutes. Trinity not really got out of second gear again in reality.
  4. Terrible start from Toulouse. Started well have Bulls. Looking forward to the 1895 semi finals.
  5. Looking at the Trinity and York squads there’s a lot missing for both. Trinity missing McGillvray, Pratt, Atoni, Hood, Pitts, Boothroyd and Bain. Im amazed the Trinity squad still looks very strong with those out. You don’t realise how much quality depth Trinity have until there’s a lot missing but it’s still strong. Have to say the recruitment this season has unearthed some quality talent capable of stepping up and doing well in SL.
  6. SATURDAY 13th APRIL Bradford Bulls v Toulouse Olympique KO 15:00 - Bulls by 8 SUNDAY 14th APRIL Barrow Raiders v Dewsbury Rams KO 15:00 - Barrow by 2 Doncaster v Featherstone Rovers KO 15:00 - Featherstone by 16 Swinton Lions v Sheffield Eagles KO 15:00 - Sheffield by 10 Whitehaven v Batley Bulldogs KO 15:00 - Haven by 6 Widnes Vikings v Halifax Panthers KO 15:00 - Widnes by 4 York Knights v Wakefield Trinity KO 15:00 - Trinity by 42
  7. As a trinity fan and one who made the trip over to Doncaster I have to say it was a very welcoming atmosphere with very friendly and security/staff. The pitch/stadium and view were good quality too. If Doncaster over next few years can grow their fan base and progress on field they could become a top championship club with that tidy set up. In terms of attendances at Trinity we are travelling well taking 12-1500+ to every game so far and that’s back to back away games. Think at fev second game we took almost 2000 fans away filling away end and a good wedge of another stand overspill.
  8. Doncaster 6 - 42 Trinity. Not the best performance from trinity today. Made too many errors and turned over a lot of possession to Doncaster. Put a few try’s down too. A lot of scope to improve on but job done today.
  9. Doncaster 0 - 22 Trinity. Trinity not playing particularly good and was a man down for 10 mins and lost a centre to injury. Gifted a fair amount of ball to Doncaster but even in second gear looking very comfortable.
  10. That was a good win for Swinton. I don’t know that much about the Toulouse team but I’ll be they’re dissapointed to be turned over at home and early in the season too.
  11. Agree with most of that. Here’s mine. SATURDAY 6th APRIL Toulouse Olympique v Swinton Lions - Toulouse by 22 SUNDAY 7th APRIL Barrow Raiders v York Knights - Barrow by 4 Dewsbury Rams v Widnes Vikings - Widnes by 14 Doncaster v Wakefield Trinity KO - Trinity by 28 Featherstone Rovers v Bradford Bulls - Fev by 10 Halifax Panthers v Batley Bulldogs KO - Fax by 18 Whitehaven v Sheffield Eagles - Sheffield by 20
  12. Due to the volume in sales of trinity fans coming to Doncaster they have been switched to the South stand. Trinity are certainly travelling heavy early season.
  13. Looking forward to the Doncaster vs Trinity game. Expecting Doncaster will be wanting a good performance at home. I would imagine Trinity will take again over 1000 and up towards 1500 again. Certainly a boost for teams in the championship with Trinity travelling very well to every game as the excitement of a new era continues to grow. The championship games so far have been very entertaining against Bradford and Featherstone.
  14. Hopefully Johnstone comes back to where he belongs at Trinity next season. The club is much more professionally run now and there has been huge strides made and investment at Trinity. With Walmsley on other wing who looks quality that’s a few quality wingers who can both finish given the slightest of chances. As for Johnstone thriving. He’s doing nothing different. The only difference is the shirt he’s wearing. I’ve watched almost every one of his games live and he’s always been class. Sometimes obviously better than others round him. People just never noticed much outside of Trinity fans due to who he played for. If he returns he will be playing in a much more balanced and invested in Trinity team I suspect.
  15. Absolutely not, as a trinity fan we are more used to being on the receiving end of a loss. It’s a huge shift for us to see a team winning week in week out (mostly). It’s a refreshing change! Let’s see how the season turns out but I’m sure both teams will be right up there. Enjoy your rugby!
  16. Looking forward to seeing McGillvray, Cozza and Bain back from injury too for Trinity. Should add to the starting line up. I’m not sure why we only played 16 players yesterday. 3rd time this season we’ve done that strangely. Lacans is a pretty good halfback with a boot on him. There is always pressure in rugby and Fev will be under it as will all teams when the business part of the season comes. Going to be a fun season without a doubt.
  17. As a trinity fan it was a very good competitive game. I was impressed by Fev’s handling but not by Trinity. We gifted set after set after set with penalties (ridiculous how many times we were pinged for offsides) and dropping the ball. I see plenty room for improvement though at Trinity. Regards Fev, looking at their starting 13 it’s pretty strong and has plenty SL and good standard players in there. I can see Fev finishing 2/3rd and being a team to be wary off during playoffs. What I do think is Fev’s issue is lack of depth and quality in depth if they start to pick up a few injuries when teams do. Still reckon they won’t lose many at home and will likely finish second. The Wakey v Fev game was better quality and entertainment that a few SL games so far this season. It’s a real shame that some significant sponsorship and coverage similar to Sky deal but of lesser value can’t be sorted to help grow the comp. There’s a few teams with good potential in the league and some who have recruited very well too. No trinity fan is taking the championship lightly but equally with almost half a full squad and a number of overseas players who came late into the pre season/season start I’m excited to see how we go. I can only see trinity getting stronger as the season progresses. That Vagana is a real find and he’s missed all pre-season only joining about 4 weeks ago. Could be some player that lad.
  18. Terrible game that with two teams churning out poor quality and rubbish commentary. Binned it off at half time.
  19. I can only think that they are trying to address it by hedging bets on a good finish and reaching finals to grow support and utilise prize money. Risky but the way IMG position points work it would probably give them a year or two grace if they were to cut their cloth and finish bottom end of table for a year or two.
  20. Yes on sportsman channel. i’ll be there. Shame about the weather but hopefully still ends up being a good match. For some of Trinity new signings from overseas this will be a first playing on a heavy muddy pitch so no idea how this game will go.
  21. It’s these gifts/loans and begging bowls from fans that are enabling the club to get the team that would likely be out of reach otherwise. Had it not been for these sticky plasters the club would likely have folded by now. I don’t dislike Salford but even if this stadium deal gets done they will need to cut their cloth accordingly and be run in a more sustainable manner.
  22. It simply doesn’t matter what they want. They and the sport will do what the insurance company tells them to do in order to obtain the insurance. It is that simple. If they want to be heard then they need to consult and raise a document detailing concerns and suggestions to mitigate the risk to players in place of what’s proposed and present that to the RFL for consideration and response of the insurers. This is the correct way to deal with it and not all the guff around it. All that’s required is someone to take responsibility and lead the process from a player and RFL perspective and streamline it appropriately.
  23. It did do Barrow justice. Barrow scored from two kicks and threw everything at Trinity for 80 minutes and didn’t break the line once all 80 minutes. A couple of try’s bombed by trinity by poor handling such as Hood diving over without the ball, Walmsley unable to take a pass to send him over and a poor option taken after a Booth break and Jowitt break were some. Trinity played pretty poor in attack and ball retention was poor not completing about 5/6 sets in a row. But the reality is that despite a raft of possession Barrow continually got halted by strong defence. The defence from Trinity was good today. The attack and ball retention was clunky but at 30-12 with a few missed chances it’s good to play not very well and still win fairly comfortably. I’m not sure that Griffin at centre worked today or Vagana at second row. Think Powell is still trying to see how versatile some players are. No doubt Fev will be more of a challenge and Trinity need to up their game but even if we play as we did today I can’t see it being a hiding. Would certainly be a close game though if we did. Playing Amatuer teams for weeks hasn’t helped but today will serve as a kick up the backside I’m sure. Lino, Thornley and Likely Doyle will be a boost next week I suspect too. Though young Smith is looking like a cracking young 9. You can see why he played for England academy last year.
  24. Possibly so. Thought I didn’t discredit Siddal. They are certainly putting up a fight and fair play to them for that.
