12 Apr KO:15:00 League 1 Rd: 2

Oxford RLFC v York City Knights

Iffley Road

Referee: S Mikalauskas

Will be there

He's the ref we had at Featherstone against the Lions. He's new to our league this season and had a good game that night, clamping down on the high shots, off sides and the holding down right from the start. I wish there were a few more around like him. He was like a breath of fresh air! Let's hope he keeps up the good work and doesn't get like the majority of refs we see most weeks, even in Super League.

Yep - he was pretty keen that night

Off down this afternoon & really looking forward to the game, be interested to see what their Iffey Road ground is like (did the Henley 'on the road game' last year) - will be good for beer & walking distance from Oxford centre

Are we any nearer finding out?

Seeing as though no-one has been speaking to the council, I'd say it's going to be like Clifton Park or Tadcaster Albion. At best.

Do you think the RFL will accept either as a venue for all home league games?

Obviously they accepted Clifton Park as a one off, but wonder about 11 league games which would probably have to be TA due to cricket at CP

Might be at Garforth Town.

Tadcaster Albion will be fun when the ball is kicked in to touch someone will have to fish it out of the Wharfe. Plenty of pubs though within walking distance of the town centre.

Will we be able to use the subs to get the ball back

Oxford 20 York 44 (16-18)

Should have been 30 - 0 up before they scored but somehow blew chances & let them back into the game before half time, lot better 2nd half, Josh Tonks outstanding for 80 minutes & looks like Greg Minikin is coming back to form

Understand some 'bullies' are telling people to stop paying into the anything that puts money in the club, but THE PLAYERS (you know - the people who actually put their bodies on the line and play the game for US in Knights shirts) need paying, plus all their travelling costs....totally wrong to do anything that affects these lads

I completely agree with you. Causing them to have no training or playing facilities and the club refusing to pay for nutritional supplements is bang out of order.

Squadbuilder is still there (thanks for the continued support Col) if the club need any funds to sign or retain a player they just need to ask.

KISS are still raising money in support of the club our next event is a Party Night at Huntington Sports Club on Saturday 25th April Tickets are just £5 and that includes chicken and chips supper, PM me to reserve a ticket.

KISS will consider making donations to York City Knights, we have issued a protocol that any request should be in writing from two directors stating what the money is required for. The request will be discussed by the KISS committee and if authorised the club will be given the money.

It would be good, when we received a request for a donation if the directors could use a little RESPECT and say PLEASE !!
