What's the state of play at the club regarding your chairman? How did the petition go?

As soon as people called for the Chairman to step down, he announced he'd stepped down as Chairman 6 weeks previously.

 

So now, the call is for the Ex-Chairman to relinquish ownership of the club to somebody fit and proper to run a semi-pro Rugby League club.

Well yeah... that'd be nice. Thing is, he's positioned himself as Overlord of the business, the business is entrusted with the Club by the RFL, the RFL won't do anything that would jeopardise a private business.

 

And because he's run that private business into the ground propped up mainly with Foundation donations and grants, the Club has run itself into the ground and there just aren't enough people in York who care about it anymore

Its a crying shame.There are too many people like this in sport.(little egos).

Worst comes to the Worst, we'll see this season out, then when he sells 7 season tickets for games at a ground we don't have, 3 shirts and a new cap for Col, can't sign any players because they've seen the injuries caused by having nowhere to train (through absolutely no fault of the players or coaching staff), our coach finally has enough or get's scalped and takes up an assistant job at Wakey/Fev/Cas... he'll wind it up.

 

Then we can start again.

Best comes to the Best, he'll flounce off after his St Helens payday thinking he's leaving us in the lurch.

The players and coaches won't have done their chances of getting a contract with a professional club any harm, that's for sure.
