Now I love RL, and have done for most of my life: I've watched countless games and played in more than a few, too, so I reckon I have a reasonable understanding of what happens on field.

Then I read some real analysis... Eye opening.

The real reason why Mitchell isn’t in the team is that his head clearly wasn’t in the right place for Origin 1, he effectively went missing and had time off afterwards so clearly something wasn’t right off field. He seemed back to his normal self at the weekend though

Agreed.  The article was focusing on decision making but it was attitude that was lacking in game 1 for Mitchell.  Not putting himself in position to support teammates or chase kicks is not about his decision not to do that but his willingness.

It is exposed far more in origin because the players always fully commit to the game and when a player like Mitchell didn't it really stood out.
