My dad took me to see Widnes v Australia in 1967 and then Saints v Australia in 1970. A relative took me see Widnes v Wire at Wembley in 1975. I went on my own to see Widnes the 1st game of the following season at home to Cas on a Friday night and convinced my dad to allow me to buy a season ticket. He was a religious man and wouldn't have let me buy it if he'd known all the other games were on a Sunday!!

In at the start of 20 years of success.
