Any predictions for Friday's game?

A win for Wigan would be fantastic for the WSL. Georgia Wilson thinks they can do it >>> https://womensrl.com/?p=369

It would be a great overturning of the odds, but Wigan's young side do keep on improving.

The women's match is also on SL+ right now.

WIG 0:6 STH on 15 minutes. St Helens on top, but the try came from a bad Wigan mistake gifting possession.

Great tackle from Molly Jones!

Saints in again, off a final pass that looked a bit iffy, but a build-up that opened up a gap on their left.

Conversion just missed.

Some bad errors from the Wigan players mean that they are more likely to tire later on in the game. They've had to do a ton of tackling.

Wigan 0:10 St Helens at half time.

Both Saints tries to Rachel Woosey.

Yes! Wigan get on the scoreboard! A try in the corner, backed up with a difficult conversion.

A converted try for St Helens looks to have sealed the game with less than 10 minutes to go.

Eva Hunter, who has run really hard all match, gets a try on the final hooter. Isabel Rowe's conversion makes it Wigan 12:16 St Helens at the death.

Great game. St Helens deserved it due to their consistency compared to Wigan's errors in attack, but both defences were top-drawer.

Wigan could not have played any worse in the first half so that’s to lose by 4 is a positive.

Woosey second try was from a forward pass.

Jodie C was on another level.

Wigan are a good prop or 2 from being a real chance of winning SL.

Wigan made some basic errors in bad positions, but you can see they are on the way up to match the current big three.

Saints are very experienced and are used to these big events so I wasn’t surprised to see Wigan make such a nervous start but hopefully they can learn from it and  control the ball better next time.

I'm okay with that. If officials are not certain, they should play on. We don't want them calling forward passes on suspicion. Benefit of the doubt to the attacking team.

I did however think the "played at, back to one" call that led to the Whitfield try was a shocker. A defender simply moving toward the player in possession, who may or may not kick, should not be regarded as playing at the ball. Benefit of the doubt should go to the defending team.

Will Jodie's tackle be the defining moment of 2024?
Here's my report of Wigan v Saints, an absolutely enthralling match.

Vic Mol was probably in under the posts with a pass inside. Then again, would have put money on Anna scoring when she got the ball. Jodie's a special talent.

Very good report, BTW.

Thank you! Some reports are very easy to write.
