coolie Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 No surprise really Draws a line under his s.hi.thousery In the changing room 1
Sailaway Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Swinton have exited the last chance saloon and arrived in limbo. No coach and, if the chat proves correct, many of the current squad leaving. A lot of work required to get a competitive team together for League 1.
Crown Flatter Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Join us and Whitehaven in League 1 once again (perhaps, but who knows for sure?). How did you slide so much? You put 50 past us at your place, nearly lost it in the reverse fixture, but notable victories by beating Featherstone TWICE and showed Toulouse the way home in France. Where did it go wrong? Now I understand that 14 of your players are leaving, one more than our departures, but we did finish bottom. Legs, Dews, Legs.
wayner Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Yes how did it all go wrong - for me it all went wrong when Patton went to Featherstone as he marshalled the team and managed the game, since his departure the team lost its consistency and weren't able to see games out. Anyway - it will be tough next year for both our teams next year but I always enjoy visiting Dewsbury

Sailaway Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Finance has to be a reason for putting together a squad that was too thin on real power and talent. The ex coach chose to include players that were a gamble and some were let go quite early in the season. Relying on dual reg is always risky especially when the partner team is hit by injuries as Saints were this season. There was no evident leader on the pitch after Patton left. Some good individuals don't necessarily make a good team. Money will continue to be a problem for teams like Swinton. 1
wayner Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Would be a good option but he left last time mid season to take up a SL coaching job

I dont think we could afford him Kenny, and I dont think he would drop down to our division. Don't get me wrong, I would love him back I feel we need a DOR, our board dont have that Rugby experience, that could be perfect for Watto in the short term to get us reorganised 1 "When you participate in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose; it's how drunk you get." -Homer Simpson "I couldn't be more chuffed if I were a badger at the start of the mating season" Ian Holloway
wayner Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Could be someone from the amateur ranks as Coleman came up that way - not sure what a DOR actually does other than add another layer of management ?
