NEWCASTLE THUNDER coach Graham Steadman is working to bed recent signing Tom Inman into a squad which was majorly overhauled in the close-season.
The 23-year-forward was added to Thunder’s player pool after the liquidation of his hometown club Halifax, where he had been since 2023 after switching from York, made all their players free agents.
Halfback Jack Hansen had already joined Rochdale, while threequarter Charlie Graham had moved to Hunslet.
Inman played 66 times for Halifax, mainly at hooker, but his last three outings for them, in this year’s Challenge Cup ties against London Chargers and Goole, either side of a Championship meeting with Batley, were at loose-forward.
“Tom is exactly the type of player we want here at Thunder,” said former Castleford coach Steadman.
“He’s tough and competitive, and understands what it takes week in and week out. We’re excited to have him at Newcastle and believe he’ll play a key role for us this year.”
