#3026595 South Yorks double headers

Posted by hawk-eye on 03 November 2014 - 06:50 PM

Eagles complex? Brought about only by themselves, sorry. They have always moaned about their treatment as a development club etc and had plenty of favours done by RFL etc at the expense of established clubs who have been let struggle. When they stand on their own 2 feet we might think better of them.

The three weeks the Eagles were given to assemble a team, because an established club (Bramley) admitted they could not meet the requirements of the coming season,  when they reformed, was huge advantage!

The two years without the central funding which was donated to the other clubs in the same division was manna from heaven, it prevented any reckless spending!

Please give me just one example of a favour granted the Eagles by the RFL?

New Barrack Tavern

601 Penistone Road
Sheffield S6 2GA
Tel: 0114 234 9148

A former Gilmours Brewery pub, the New Barrack Tavern became something of a Sheffield drinking ‘institution’ well before its acquisition by Castle Rock in 2002.

Situated on Penistone Road, which heads northwards from the City Centre towards the Hillsbrough district, the adjacent tram lines make the pub a popular port of call for locals and visitors alike.

Less than a mile from Owlerton Stadium, home of Sheffield Tigers Speedway, STAARS (Sheffield Tigers Aid and Rider Support who meet at NBT) and Greyhound racing. From February 2014 the stadium will also be the new home of Sheffield Eagles Rugby League Club, returning to the venue where they first formed almost 30 years ago.

On match days open from 10 am

Well worth a visit!
