  1. mergers

That is just stupidly selfish. Clubs should only merge if they want to, but the most important thing is the survival of RL in an area rather than the survival of a club. If all the clubs in an area take your attitude then RL could well be lost to the area completely.
  2. mergers

As opposed to eventually both clubs disappearing. The sporting landscape has changed a great deal since 1982, that year was very significant in the development of RL.
  3. When Barry Mac was playing for Leeds he went to the club doctor as he was in pain. B.M "Doc, when I touch my ankle it hurts, when I touch my knee it hurts, when I touch my groin it hurts". Doc "What happens if you touch your head Barry" B.M. "Ouch, that hurts as well doc, what do you think it is". Doc "Its quite simple Barry, you have broken your finger".
  4. Leigh 14 Wigan 22

Wigan run everything, we don't do deals, you want to a deal about rugby you come to us, we don't do house calls, especially to outlying suburbs.
  5. Leigh 14 Wigan 22

They had ladders to climb in, I believe there is also now a danger of subsidence around the car park where the tunnels were dug.
  6. Eddie Hearn ' Monitoring RL'

I think as a promotions company they play to the sports strengths, you are right, they don't go out to change the sport, they go out to maximize its potential.
  7. Why do RL clubs fold?

I wouldn't class it as folding as I think the OP was suggesting.
  8. Why do RL clubs fold?

Switching to soccer and returning to the dark side happened.
  9. Eddie Hearn ' Monitoring RL'

Strange that this appears as the bogey man disappears.
  10. The meeting at which the Sky deal was put to the clubs had Summer Rugby as one of the main items on the agenda, the Sky deal was not on that agenda. The previous vote on Summer Rugby had only been lost by a couple of votes and a few clubs had since changed their stance.
  11. Vic Wakeling, who had a big hand in the negotiations, is on record as saying Sky weren't bothered when the season was but that they always thought RL was a great floodlit sport.
  12. The game was set to switch to Summer regardless of Sky.
  13. Why do RL clubs fold?

Strictly speaking not all of those folded.
  14. I'm trying to write a script for a porn film, but there are too many holes in the plot.
  15. Not a joke but a fact I find amusing. The faster you travel the greater your mass, so sitting on your ar$e being a couch potato is when you have your lowest mass (the increase in mass only occurs while you are moving), luckily for speed freaks you go back to your original mass when you stop.
