My old man Allen Terry signed for Batley in 1968, still known as Abe to this day as a fellow prop. RIP
-
Pure speculation, but at his Q&A evening Tommo told us he thought his son was good enough to make it over here, it would be great to have the next generation setting the mount alight.

Shame to see Martyn is out for possibly the whole of 2024 with an ACL injury, Similar toTom Gilmore, consistent and pretty injury free for 2 seasons with us then a serious injury as soon as he gets to Widnes. Hope he recovers well, was great for us.

What have Kevin and the board done over the years that makes you think we won't assemble a competitive squad before the season starts? Pound for Pound we've probably been the most competitive club in the division over a 13 year period, we regularly finish above teams with a squad costing double that of ours, have some faith. I bet you open all your Christmas presents on Christmas eve.

If your concerned Will Maher has gone elsewhere then I'm concerned about you. He couldn't break a paperbag, not fit to tie the laces of any of our aging props.
-
Have they caught him yet? I could give him 20m head start and still catch him before the halfway line.

Great signing, very highly rated by the haven fans and from the highlights reel he runs and passes in a very similar style to Hooley.

Hooley going from Leeds to Cas yes

1895 cup final spot vs finishing 6th
Chris_T replied to crashmon's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
As a Batley fan sitting pretty in second place and an uncanny knack of spoiling Fevs party when it counts I am desperate to see my team at Wembley, even with 3k in a 90k stadium it would mean everything to me. There's a fighting chance we could make superleague this season, but a tinpot cup final at Wembley would mean just as much to me. -
If you can be this negative after the season we're having imagine how hard it's going to be for you next season when we're in Superleage where there's a good chance we will lose every game.

We've lost our first league game since Good Friday against a good team and the we're back to doom n gloom, the players are too old, we need young blood, the board aren't backing the coach blah blah. Our squad has cost less than half of Keighleys squad, its a near miracle that we are where we are. We're over halfway through the league and joint second, surely the board and our OAP squad deserve a bit of credit. I'm throughly enjoying this season, Sunday was another brilliant day out regardless of the result. Well done to the guys at Fox's for putting on the band and magician etc.

Not Batleys greatest performance but good teams find a way to win when they're a bit off it. (Man City last night). We've got to be delighted with joint second at this stage as I don't feel we've hit our full potential yet. No easy games this season without Dewsbury in our league but no reason why we can't win the next 4 before a trip to Toulouse.

The league game on Sunday between Batley and York is free admission for everyone, it's the annual Jo Cox big get together game, I'd urge any RL fans who haven't got a game on Sunday to get along if you can, for those who have never been to the Mount You'll love it,those who have been before will vouch for the home cooked food, drink and good craic, it should be a good close game too. There will be live music, fairground rides, street food and a warm up game between the British Asian RL and Colostomy UK RL. On a warm sunny day as forecast its a great place to be, and FREE!!!
